I think it could well go to points. Quarry was a good fighter. If he boxes a smart fight, he might even win it. 50-50, imo.
Povetkin was the more constant fighter. And the smarter fighter. He also hit harder. Hand Speed was about even. Quarry better on the counter. Povetkin UD.
I see it the other way, Quarry beat better fighters than Pov's beat too, I do rate Pov but Quarry on form was very good and dangerous
A prime Jerry Quarry wins this one on points, Jerry was a very dangerous skilled counter puncher. As mentioned many times, Yank Durham was afraid that Joe Frazier would have faced Jerry in the WBA Tournament in 1967.
No way this goes to points. Both of these guys are ruthless finishers. I'll go for Quarry because he could really take a shot too but I wouldn't put money on it. Guarantee it wouldn't go past 7.
Im starting to think the only advantage Pov has is weight, Quarry just seems a far more natural kind of fighter
