I ain't talking prime Tyson here, he'd have destroyed Lyle imo.
1996 Tyson, just lost his title to Holyfield Verses
1976 Big Ron Lyle, who's just had Foreman rocking and rolling all over the ring.
    So 12 rounds? Who wins?

Prime Tyson beats Lyle but 1975-76 lyle would have a big chance to stop the 96 version

I think that h2h it is a 50/50 fight. This mike was not the combination puncher that he used to be and he was only looking for a good punch. Lyle could get up from a big punch and then knock you down he proved this against Foreman and 70s George destroys Tyson

If Lyle forces it to play out like Foreman-Lyle, I don't see Tyson winning.

Im not sure if lyle gets through a Tyson onslaught, even a Faded one. He'd get up from the kds, maybe even have Tyson shaken but ends up getting pulled out by the ref. But a short exciting battle for sure

I still think 1996 Tyson could have beaten Lyle but definitely a dangerous fight

    Tyson still wins.

Lyle was far too easy to hit, and the openings Foreman couldn't take advantage of, Tyson probably would. Tyson was still a pretty good counter puncher, much better than was Foreman.

It took a roided up prime Holyfield counterpunching the crap out of Tyson for 11 rounds to beat him... Lyle is no Holyfield.

This is a brawl as long as it lasts.

    Tyson KO 3

Reminds me of the Berbick fight. Bounces him around the ring like a basketball.

Prime Tyson destroys Lyle. But 1996? Could be a tough go for a few rounds for Tyson. One thing for certain Lyle wouldn't be intimidated by Tyson And he would go in trying to win.
After a few give and take rds, the better skills of 96 Tyson would began to show, would lead to a ko in 6-7 rds for him.

I think Mike stops him early enough. A lot of people will disagree with this. Prime Mike, but 1996 Mike? Better fight but I pick Mike to stop him in about 6 or 7.

Still say Tyson stops him. Tyson still had an iron chin, great hand speed and ATG punching power. That 10 punch combo that he stopped Bruno with in early 1996 would have also stopped Lyle.

No,lyle is not Holyfield, but he was bigger, stronger,HITS MUCH HARDER and was more aggressive. Not intimidated by Tyson and he would be looking for the win and the Ko. Evander had Tyson drunk with a few shots not a huge combination. Boxing is about styles and lyle would trouble Tyson

Lyle can't fight at mid-range or inside and is far too slow. He'd get massacred, no way he times Tyson on the outside. If you get dominated by Quarry, you aren't doing anything against Tyson

'96 Tyson beat Bruno who was at least as good as Lyle
