Competitive fight so far. Yaqubov is reading Rojas' punches fairly well and is winning so far, but Rojas being a gritty veteran is making it tough for Muhammadkhuja.

Rojas carrying on like last round. Early on getting jabbed and flurried by Yaqubov before sinking in body shots and winging plenty of right hooks and straight lefts up top. Another very hard round to score. Damage is the separating criterion again.

 

Yaqubov 48-47 Rojas
Yaqubov reading Rojas' mode of attack more now and is moving in and out appropriately to avoid most of it. Less combinations and more jabs and single straights from Yaqubov to win the round.

 

Yaqubov 58-56 Rojas
Rojas took over the early part of a round for the first time this fight, landing lots of body shots and a few lefts upstairs. Yaqubov begins to adjust again and move around Rojas, both countering and walking Rojas into beautifully set up power shots that some leave him reeling.

Rojas is coming in and trying to throw combos again and again and he's getting countered again and again. Yaqubov showcasing some lovely head and foot movement to largely negate Rojas and pick him off.

 

Yaqubov 78-74 Rojas
Yaqubov schooling Rojas now. Rojas lands a few isolated shots but takes about five lefts for each one he delivers.

 

Yaqubov 88-83 Rojas
Yaqubov started the round with a magnificent jab which rocked Rojas onto his backfoot. Then finished it with a wonderful left which spun Rojas' head around. The rest was mostly Yaqubov's work too.

 

Yaqubov 97-93 Rojas
Very close round. Just felt Yaqubov didn't throw enough to nick it because he was evading enough to make Rojas look ineffective and Rojas landed more than previous rounds so I'll give it to him.

 

Yaqubov 107-102 Rojas
Yaqubov just about nicking the round due to having the better cleaner work but he was outlanded. Rojas really stepping up the pressure and volume.

 

Yaqubov 117- 111 Rojas
Yaqubov finished in style, totally outboxing Rojas and landing some lovely clean lefts. One thing I question is his power because he landed a lot of clean and well timed shots without hurting Rojas badly at any point.

I'm sorry but Rojas missed most of his work. You might be fooled by the volume but he was comprehensively outboxed in most rounds to at least a 7-5 decision. He was game but it wasn't a draw.
