The post lay off Billy Joe isn't a patch on his old self. The saunders that fought lemieux would school canelo, sadly I dont think he's the same fighter anymore. This fight will look a bit like bellew vs usyk... Billy will look decent early on, a better fighter than canelo anticipates, try to be a bit cute and slippery but canelo will start to time him and ultimately stop him.
You're such an idiot Why can't you see that beating lemieux is totally irellevant when it comes to beating Canelo. Lemieux is so many many many levels below Canelo . Why do idiots use it as a yardstick as "proof" that BJS would beat Canelo. It makes absolutely no sense, unless you know **** all about boxing
Much like Fury's performance against Schwarz, Billy Joe's performance against Isufi was excellent but it has gone under the radar because the level of opponent was poor. Billy was hurt with a big shot on the temple and recovered well but apart from that, he was untouchable. I recall reading somewhere that the punch stats were record breaking for a wold title fight. (IIRC Isufi landed the fewest punches ever recorded in a 12 round world title fight) As stated the opponent was poor but it proved Billy can be fit and sharp at SMW.
I disagree Saunders will have that fear he will work like a dog in training camp he’s 30 years of age not 35. By his own admissions he likes to cut corners in training, I think it’s no coincidence he was at his best against Lemieux I think thst was the first time he new he had a proper fight on his hands. Canelo obviously is a different ball game I think we will see the best Saunders will that he enough maybe not , the fight being at 168 is also a worry for me he is not a super middleweight.
That’s my point he has not been working as a dog because he knows he can beat these opponents with one hand tied behind his back !!! He should be middleweight and that does concern me but this is the only chance he will get now with Canelo because of the belt , in a perfect world I think billy would prefer this fight at middleweight .
How does he school him? Can anyone break it down? Not being a tit but genuinely interested in hearing from someone who knows the ropes, just how does he get the job done? Not "tyson fury" "fights to level of opponent" "gypsy" etc
