He was exciting when he was involved in mismatches, but boring as hell when fighting decent fighters. Safety first, but effective, like Hopkins.

He wasn't boring against Corrales, G. Hernandez, Hatton, Judah, or Manfredy.

Hopkins was also only consistently boring late in his career when he was older and had a low workrate.

The more boring Hopkins got, the more popular he got.
    That's weird.

Btw, I think I know you from somewhere.

Yes, I think he's usually boring. But, to be fair, that's only because I don't watch boxing to see "technical brilliance". I like toe-to-toe action and fighters who take risks. That's what excites me in boxing. I'll take a Marquez-Vazquez war over a PBF "masterpiece" any day of the week.

Like someone already said, to each their own.

You must be a fan of pornography too.
Porn addicts often can't appreciate art.

The DLH fight. Lots of exposure. Hopkins probably could've gotten more popular after the Tito fight, but it doesn't help much when you fight Carl Daniels and Morade Hakkar.

I post on a bunch of different forums.

I am so sick of people calling Mayweather technically brilliant.

There really is no point trying to tell people, is there?

Its like watching paint dry the only reason to watch PBF was against tough guys hoping to see someone Knock him out....I never went looking to see him perform. Boring and a runner.

But Marquez-Vazquez featured technically brilliant fighters anyway.

They weren't wild, Foreman-Lyle or Gatti-Ward type brawls.

The Hatton fight was an ugly, boring fight. The only saving grace was the name recognition of both combatants and of course Floyd's KO at the end.

Floyd's style is definitley not too fan friendly and that's the reason most find him boring to watch.

    It was ugly, no doubt.

I didn't find it boring. Then again, I rarely get bored during big fights because of the suspense factor and the event.

yes but can u argue with the outcome. Somtimes hes really entertaning some times technical and somtimes brutish, but it dosent totally depend on him, but more on the opponant he fights.

I agree with what many have already said. He is an exciting fighter who has been in some boring fights.

He was great to watch in his days at 130-135 but after that he became to much of a defense first fighter. I walked out of a bar during the Baldimor fight...the only time in my life I've done that. It was a disgustingly boring fight and I feel less of myself for having spent a 15 dollar cover charge to watch it.
