How do you know the fighter made the decision?

There was an Al Haymon contract leaked a few years ago and if his contracts for his fighters now are still the same none of his fighters have any decision making ability, everything goes through Haymon first and has to be approved by him including who promotes said fighter.

Haymon has worked with Hearn in the past and will continue to do so when it suits him. Hunter is signed to him and fights on a lot of Matchroom cards.

Jacobs signed with Hearn but only after he'd lost his title to GGG. If Jacobs was still a champion I doubt he would of allowed him to sign with Hearn, especially after Hearns deal with DAZN.

I figured Al advised Jacobs because he figured he had a shot as did I.

In the end if the fighter wants a fight or a deal accepted it happens.

Now if Al the so called advisor advises them not to and they think they should then shame on them if they don’t.That’s why it’s so important for athletes at the highest level to have really good people around them. Wilder like previously stated lost the most.

I very much doubt Wilder has seen anythîng like those kind of figures feathering his nest, after all, he's got about 14 managers (was 15 but he sacked Lou Dibella for trying to get him a career high, generationally changing payday).

If you think Wilder and Ortiz got anywhere near $27m for a fight that sold 250k buys there’s no chance. He apparently got it for Breazeale but only that fight they match. They took less for the Fury fight than offered for AJ and thrown in a fight that has ended his career. Ended up fighting 4 fights for half the money than for 3 easier fights on a rival platform.

I really believe someday Haymon is going to be in a major lawsuit. Once fighters realise they have had the wool pulled over their eyes.

Do you have any information on the rights fees paid to PBC? How much do the international networks pay to obtain broadcasting rights to the fight? Or dos anyone for that matter?

Old grandpa Ortiz should just feel lucky he was let out of the pension home with the opportunities he had. Kownacki would still be working in the kitchen making his pastry if Mr Haymon didn't offer him a contract. Just so typical people pointing the blame at the bomb squad, for their own failings!

Lol this was a good question 3 years ago. But it's really obvious now. Yes he mismanaged them because he takes his percentage off of both fighters as long as it stays in house among other reasons.
He mismanaged oritz to prop him up for wilder, increasing Wilders stock. If he lets Ortiz fight against Joshua, he only takes 10% off 7 milion. If he blocks the fight he takes 10% off of both wilder and Ortiz

Your maths is wonky. They offered Wilder $120 million for two fights with Joshua plus one other fight. You're saying that they matched the DAZN offer by offering him nearly $120 million for five fights?

Whyte also offered 12 milliion dollars which apparently was an easy nights work for Wilder... by his in own admission.

So PBC fighters dont like big easy paydays

Mike Tyson sued Don King's ass after Holyfield. I'd like to think that if Wilder has any brains left he'll do the same to Haymon after he loses to Fury again

Nope but based on the fact that the PPV buys generated around $13m in the US and the gate wouldn’t have been great. There is no way the international rights fees doubled their money to allow them to break even.

The fact DAZN have had to launch in the UK as they generate next to nothing for their content from Sky rights fees, which include Canelo fights and GGG etc I’m guessing international rights fees aren’t much unless it’s a PPV.

Trust me it happen as reported by Dan Rafael of ESPN. You may have saw they’re official NSAC purses as $3 and $1.5 but the guarantees was $20 mil and $7 mil. Much like Canelo vs GGG 2 the NSAC purses were $5 and $4 mil when they made $40 and 30 mil

What are you talking about they offered Wilder 4 fights for $120 not two. 20 mill for Breazeale $40 mil apiece for 2 AJ fights and 20 for another fight. They matched it by giving him 20 for Breazeale and Ortiz and as reported by ESPNs Dan Rafael they were guaranteed $25 million where each will likely net $35 to $40..

Wilder and Fury have no one to thank more than AJ for the huge financial interest in the HW division.
If he would have won Eddie was already saying he would have gotten 50/50 against AJ which would have been much more than the $40 mil they offered. He’s not the problem at PBC he just made huge money it’s the guys who won’t never sniff near 7 million a fight turning down $10 million offers such as Tank,Jermall, Caleb Plant, Kownacki etc..
