Even that would be a tough watch.

Just keep Hughie fighting low level opponents on undercards. At least it's somewhat watchable instead of putting him in with a live opponent where he skips around for 12 rounds refusing to go toe to toe and cruising to a usual comfortable UD.

    Charles Martin.

A known name in the UK and as a former "World Champion" (whatever your viewpoint on this), it would look good on his resume to say he had beaten such a person.

I would have the fight as a genuine 50/50.

Fair point, only time Hughie gets aggressive is when he is beating up a taxi driver.

Martin is a laughing stock in the UK don't see that name on his resume meaning anything.

Correct but in these days of "marketing", they would go with the "former World Champion" line and spin it for all it's worth.

By my saying it would look good on his resume doesn't mean I agree with it. It's the politics of the sport that would spout it looking good, the hype machine.

There is nobody on earth who can spin Charles Martin onto the British public now.

Charles Martin is seen as a joke over here, fight won't be no good for Hughie he will box his way to a boring UD, we, the fans, won't like that.

Would like to see him with Helenius. Great how everyone wrote him off and he DESTROYED Kownacki. Won't happen tho Helenius is going to go for the £££££ and I don't blame him.

Chalres Martin should fight Ortiz, who is there taking (Ortiz wont be standing if he allows Martin to hit him anywhere near the amount that he did with Hammer).

Failling that Martin should fight either Helenius or Wallin which are fights he should be favourite in.

Hughie Fury should fight Kuzmin or Zhang. They wont make for entertaining fights and more decent(ish) technically and our ranked amongst the top 15.

Price fight for Hughie would be generate more money. All 3 M with Matchroom and should be easy fights to make.

Both of those would be very interesting fights. I don't think Hrgovic would risk it right now, difficult to look good against Fury and Hrgovic's career is clearly being carefully stage-managed.

I think, if possible, someone like Kownacki would be a good test for Fury. Winnable and a bit of a name.

It’s going to be Hughie v Price chucked on AJs PPV- I can see it a mile off and it will be shocking.

Whoever suggested Charles Martin must be a lunatic- that fight would be a crime against the sport

    Lunatic checking in!

I never said it's a fight that I put at the top of my wish list.

I was merely pointing out that from a Marketing, Hype and IBF Ranking (11th) angle, the spin doctors within the boxing politics would have people buying the manufactured hype and lets be honest, they have sold worse tripe to the masses in the recent past.

I think it is 50/50 but a 50/50 that Hughie would be confident with. I am simply looking at things from his perspective.

    Anyway, lunatic checking out!

I can't believe I am saying this but.. Johnny Nelson was correct after Hughies fight.

Hughie needs a couple more of those types of opponents, maybe with a different style to the last one, something new to look at and work out but that sort of level.

Let him have a few blow outs, a few stoppage wins, build his confidence and yes pad his record a little bit, the titles are all tied up right now, he won't get anywhere near a shot for 2 years plus, so there really is not rush.

Then a nice steady series of step ups towards a title shot, just keep him winning and learning and let the division iron itself out.

Charles Martin gets a rough deal. Yeah he’s nowhere near world contender level but he’s went away and improved a lot, carries decentish power, is “an awkward southpaw”. I think he’s a genuine top 25 fighter which there’s nothing to be ashamed of.
