Second time in three weeks that song has been referenced on here. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...y-and-wilder-in-britain.644820/#post-20327215
A lot of boxers do that. At least his excuses were better and more credible than 'the suit I wore to the ring was too heavy'.
It was a complete robbery anyone ssying other wise is agends driven Put a poll up its been done to death and it never ever favors fury
Follow up to this post. Just watched the first McDermott-Fury bout again. It was close imo and closer than what I remembered. It could easily have been a draw. McDermott was maybe a little unlucky to lose as he was defending English heavy champ, iirc.
It definitely wasn't a big robbery like people claim The problem was the shitty scorecard that gave Fury a wide decision, just like Alejandro Rochin's scorecard. These kind of judges should be straight up sacked. It was a great close and extremely tough fight for both men A young inexperienced Fury gassing out which is a rare site and fighting on pure determination through the end of the fight is a site to behold.
I find it very strange the way people still to this day get off on the McDermott loss/win. Apart from the fact Fury was a 21 year old baby heavyweight, he did the amicable thing, rematched McDermott and secured a stoppage win. What else is there to be said about it? A loss on his record when he was 21 against a top experienced British level heavyweight would have no significance to his legacy today. If Fury avoided the rematch I could understand the ill feeling but he literally rectified the situation with a rematch which is what we need in boxing. Look at Amir Khan for example who never rematched anyone who beat him.
I don't think anybody gets off on it The Fury haters are mostly dirty casuals who have no clue about boxing or know about the close McDermott fight anyway.... Nobody is unbeatable in boxing. Actually if you have an unbeaten record then it should be questioned and scrutinized further. If you scrutinize Fury's record a close McDermott fight when he was a young pup is all that comes up. No big deal.
McDermott in his prime was avoided and the fights he lost he was injured in camp and ****ed no one wanted parts of a fully fit motivated mccy LOL a 20 year old fury faught a seasoned MCdermott who was in the best shape of his life it happens styles can be hard but what happen in the rematch? Fury beat him down
Some classic posts I found re. Fury shutting down Richardson; ^ This one sounds for all the world like it could've been authored by me, but it wasn't. We should all enjoy much mirth at the expense of the mystic guru snake oil salesman who garnered five minutes of acclaim on the strength of two victories (wherein the matchups were stylistically tilted in his favor to begin with) and a bunch of silly, vaguely catchy corner idioms. Fury is King and you just know Richardson is fit to be tied right now over Fury's heavyweight supremacy. God willing, paranoid Naz will recover from this trauma.
