Kelly needs to aim a little higher in his choice of future opponents assuming he beats Avenyensan. I know the popular belief that Good amateurs don’t necessarily become good pros but in most cases they do , in respect to Conner Benn he is far more experienced. The fact that they have had a Twitter spat doesn’t make it a decent fight .
Yeah, he mentioned this on the Toe to Toe podcast which as an aside as massively improved since Barry Jones started presenting it. He asked Kelly a legitimate question about having style over substance and questioned him over the pull out...something Spencer Fearon and Anna Woolhouse would have dodged. I do rate Josh Kelly, I just hope he’s adjusted for his next fight otherwise he’ll get smashed.
Yeah, I rate Kelly too. He gets stick for his style but he is trying to put on a show for the crowd, he just lacks that killer punch and it didn't help he was on cards with Ritson. Out of all the potentials in British boxing he has to be the best one in terms of natural ability.
Could stick it in a hospitality box at stadium. Josh Kelly seems to have a very inflated view of his self importance and the level he is actually at. Guys now not even proven at British level talking of headlining stadium fights, give me strength.
I would guess 50/60 percent of your average Sunderland sports fan doesn’t even know who Josh Kelly is , for him to think a fight with Benn would be suitable at the stadium of light is hilarious !!
