Could the iron chinned Cobb last the distance vs a 1960 Sonny Liston?

Depends on Liston's mentality and how well Cobb handles the body shots. A down for the count ko is impossible, a knockdown or TKO are very possible.

I went with maybe. As difficult as it may be, he wouldn’t be the only man to go the distance with Sonny

Cobb is up there with George Chuvalo in the indestructible stakes so I would say yeas, he would make it to the last bell. He'd be sore afterwards though !

Yeah, he would. And probably laugh about it afterwards.

Liston will wind-up in the Hospital, with two severely bruised hands, but wins the fight. Cobb wants a re-match.

I think so. But this could be cutting it close 4 Cobb. Liston would pulverize and pound and pulverize the hell out of Cobb. This would not be a good fight at all.

Tex always said the the only man to ever hurt him was Earnie Shavers. Did you know Tex asked ref Steve Crosson for 3 more rounds after the final bell against Larry Holmes. He said "give them to me & I'll be HW champion"
Well I ran into Steve at a black tie affair in Dallas, boxing was the cabaret LOL, I asked him about it & he said " Yes he did & he was serious too. he said Larry cant hit me no more his hands hurt too much" Of course he couldnt give him extra rounds but he said " I believe he could have done it too" lol

    Great story!
Cobb would just have been more battered, Holmes had endurance to burn.
He was also KOed in MMA fighting.
But was a great & highly likeable personality.

    I'll say no.

He did survive a faded Shavers though.

Cobb said to Larry Holmes after taking his 15-round beating: “Next time let’s fight in a phone booth.”

Larry responded: “I’ll give you my home number and you can give me a call.”

I'd love to see Tex face if he saw you call Earnie "faded" lol
He'd likely say " Somebody musta forgot to tell Earnie he was faded cause if he was I wouldnt wanna face him in his prime"
