Yeah, Ortiz is pretty much the most overrated HW of the last 20 years. Even Ike Ibeabuchi, who grossly overrated based on what he actually did in the ring, actually did beat a couple of decent fighters.
Old orc-face was quite good, I guess, considering his advanced age. Probably got some of his highlights while on roids though. Definitely overrated but still dangerous. I have to give him one thing, his KD/KO faces against Wilder were hilarious, those big bulging eyed bewildered orc expressions of his, forever caught on film. Hey, Ortiz, how does it feel to know you will forever be remembered for being beat down twice by Wilder, your legacy will be those KD/KO clips, while Fury beat Wilder twice and stopped him the second time? Remember you thought you were better than Fury in those interviews, more of a threat to Wilder? Funny orc!
Ortiz has only one notable win 5 years ago against Jennings. Jenning himself was a overrated win at time considering he should drew against Perez but due to a BS point deduction in the last round lost it. Perez himself should of lost to Takam and got a gift of a draw. Ortiz even looked very poor defensively against Hammer. Got beat twice by a very limited fighter in Wilder who apart from his wins against Ortiz has done nothing but beat low level hand picked fighters. Yoel Romero who trained with Ortiz at the cuban Olympic centre stated that Ortiz is at least 2 years older than he claims.
Wlad was struggling with his trailer trash BPD actress wife who he had his only child with. The Wlad that faced Jennings and Fury, was the worst version of himself in his entire career. He let his emotional personal turmoil impact his performance. We have seen since that Hayden's lifestyle is completely toxic for any professional athlete to be associated with. Hence old man Ortiz got way over rated on getting a better win over Jennings than Wlad.
Klitschko was just too old at that time. Way past it. The speed, the power, the explosiveness, the footwork, the energy and the output he had before was all gone by more than half. His game was always been around being active and throwing many punches(mostly jabs) and use his feet. And lets not forget he was not with the coach who made him great, because Manny past away. Big big difference. Jennings is not even an average boxer.
Yeah. Now try to imagine how terrible Wlad was 2 years after that with a year and a half inactivity, when he almost KOd Joshua.
Standing in front of Tua and mixing it up and then slaying a very good fighter in Byrd, you couldn't help but get excited at Ibeabuchi, imo he already proved he was the goods on just them 2 performances alone. He would rip Ortiz a new one
Ortiz is THE REAL BOOGEYMAN!!! He manhandled Wilder twice but got unlucky and lost twice but should have won both fights. He's a monster. Maybe Tyson Fury could deal with him but others? No way. Ortiz would beat the crap out of Beyonce Wilder in the third fight for sure. 1. Fury 2. ORTIZ ........ ........ ...... 78. Joshua 1041. Wilder EASY. King Kong is just a joy to watch and one of the best HW's ever if it comes to boxing skills.
Overrated or not, I do believe he has been avoided. A skilled and powerful southpaw, nobody likes to face that kind of boxer.
I still have King Kong as the best hw currently: 1. Ortiz 2. Fury 3. Joshua 4. Wilder 5. Ruiz 6. Parker 7. Hunter 8. Povetkin 9. Pulev 10. Helenius
