Larry was the opposite of Ali in all but the manner in which he fought his body mind and soul where at a different end to Ali, i really rather enjoyed Larrys bitter street attuide a lot he reminds me of the people i live amongst a real peoples champion was our Larry unlike the privileged flawless Ali.

Still funny as hell the 149th time I see it. Larry may not be as charismatic as Ali, but he certainly has his charms. LMAO
I remember when this happened back then and I recorded the story off Sportscenter that night. After all the highlights you showed here they showed Larry going back inside and performing with his band where he sang the lead vocals. Holmes was a cool cat.
True enough - Berbick was quite likely certifiable. Berbick's melodramatic account is hilarious. I feel certain that the interviewer momentarily considered whether it might have been a better idea to conduct this one over the phone.
My second favorite Berbick story is the one where he claimed that he signed to fight the winner of Lewis Holyfield despite not being ranked by any major belt organizations. By that point he was fighting club fighters in Canada.
