Well , he's the best I've seen in my lifetime and that's 60 years. Duran is better than Ray Robinson in some aspects as mentioned in the article but I don't know about rating him pound for pound over Sugar Ray Robinson.

I like Duran a lot but what happened to him in the fight against Hearns?

He went up against an ATG who was ridiculously bigger and had his number. **** happens. Hearns would do that to almost any LW, excluding PBF, who would probably be out-boxed for 4/5 before being KOed.

What a fighter he was. What an era of fighting. I have to say I’ve always loved Ray Leonard, but no doubt from a P4P basis he was the best. And is the best from the last 40 years

Yeah, the size differences played a major role in that fight. Hearns was a lot bigger and a lot taller than Duran. Besides, Hearns hit harder than Duran.

Own durans box set.. ****in love him .. Absolute offensive monster.. Technically superb.. Not averse to the rough stuff and very cute defensively... His run at lightweight is fantastic

Probably holds one of the greatest wins in boxing history

My favourite fight of his is the barkley fight.. Just a savage affair and watching him hang with a big punching middleweight well past his prime is a fantastic feat.

Hearns was just wrong for him on every level... A skilled huge boxer puncher with a ramrod jab and terrifying power with every physical advantage over him.... I give Duran props for even taking the fight... I think alot of guys would've **** out... I'm amazed he didn't stay down from that right hand longer... Its still probably the best ko I've ever seen

I don't know every top fighter in history to the extent I can rank them p4p. For example I don't know where someone like Harry Greb should rank. That's boxing historians job I guess. But among the fighters I've watched, Duran is certainly the best.

I love his LW reign, the first two DeJesús fights have some of the greatest action the LW division ever saw, and in their third fight, he showed the world just how diverse a fighter he was.

I don't know what fights are on your boxset, have you seen the Sims fight? It's not as good as the Barkley fight, nor the Moore, Leonard and DeJesús fights, but it is a really slept on fight.

Think about this for a second. Roberto Durán, a lightweight, went 15 rounds, arguably beating(although I don't buy it), and was the toughest opponent of Marvin Hagler, a top 3 middleweight ATG... Absolute beast.
