If Joe Frazier had a right hand to the head, could he have beaten Foreman?

Joe could throw a right to the body, but I have rewatched the Foreman fights, and I don't think he landed a single strong straight right hand to Foreman's head.

    Thoughts?

No. The way he'd have more success vs George was if he was clear in the 2nd fight. Fight going backwards. Right hand or not, he ain't doing it.

Not even slightly for mine. foreman is just not the match for Joe i'm afraid.

Yeah going OK thanks. I'm in a smaller city 700k away from one of the big ones and it's good so far - 2 cases i think with one driving thru who dropped in feeling unwell. I know of course that when things start rolling they will sure start rolling. Hope you guys are going as well as can be too mate.

He gets slaughtered he isn't beating Foreman with any plan he conspires to act on his physicality limits him to greatly as does his style.

Foreman's brute power, strength and bully style will always crush smaller men, large men, giant men take your pick if you come to Foreman you will be broken.

The prime 70s Foreman conditioned and ready to seek and destroy cannot and will not be beaten by anyone who doesn't stick and move.
Even then you may only delay the unavoidable I feel only Ali could beat the 26 year old Foreman we saw in Zaire Ali even with his famous durability he would never survive a second fight.

Foreman was so psyched by Ali, I think Ali would win a second fight too, but not post 1976.

I don't know if I'd favor him against Foreman, Liston, Louis and Ali but I know NOBODY has an easy night with prime Frazier. Win or lose.

While I agree with the replies in this thread, I can't help but think just how badly Joe was disadvantaged. He could only throw a left hook vs Foreman and George evaded most of those.

If Joe had a Rocky like straight right, he could land some of them, do damage, and then also land left hooks.

I think it could be competitive for a few rounds that way but George would still overwhelm him. Still, I can't help but think how Joe was basically fighting one handed against George. He barely threw any rights to the body, almost no rights to the head, just kept throwing looping telegraphed left hooks that even Foreman could evade it.

I agree that styles make fights. But Joe's complete lack of right hand to the head made it even worse for him.

I don't know I think Liston would take it to Foreman with success.

No. You can’t fight fire with fire against Foreman or you get KTFO. Particularly prime 70s George. 80-90s George wasn’t much different. No one really stood toe to toe with him and survived.

And Joe is my favourite HW of all time.

I was talking about a right hand to the head

Joe had a right to the body but watch the Foreman fights again. He barely threw a right to the head. In fact he threw very few rights vs George. He was basically fighting one handed vs Foreman.

How familiar are you with Frazier? He barely threw rights, at all.
