Tbh Tyson's power is overrated. It was his speed, timing, and attacking at all angles that was so devastating.

Nothing unreasonable. Tyson is still far better puncher and fighter.

Not overly surprised, Morrison was a hell of a puncher, in fact it was pretty much the only thing his game had outside the Foreman fight.

I've also heard Mercer say he hits harder than Lewis and the Klitschkos.

Wouldn't surprise me, I remember Biggs saying that it wasn't the power that was the biggest problem but Tyson's speed & pressure. Ruddock said he did punch hard "for his size". I think the combination of speed, explosiveness & aggression made Tyson's power look more than it was, although obviously he did have big power. I'd certainly rank fighters such as Foreman & Shavers as heavier hitters.

Quite frankly even if true it’s irrelevant.

If this is true, then being the hardest puncher is not correlative to being an elite boxer... something I have contended for a long time.

Tyson had much, much more over Morrison than a better chin. Morrison had a shallow gas tank, not only physically but mentally. In addition to not having a Plan B, he didn't seem to believe in his Plan A after a few rounds. He was perfectly comfortable occupying the second rung of the division but tended to fall apart the few times he attempted to take the next step.

how you can you pass any of that off as “ fact” ? You’ve got the testimony of three fighters who fought those two men at polar opposite ends of their careers. And whilst I acknowledge that it’s a possibility it’s hardly enough to call it “ fact” given the circumstances

I can believe Tommy hit slightly harder. Not sure of it, but it doesn't sound far fetched.

Bruno named Smith as the hardest puncher he ever faced. There have been a number of guys, especially since steroids entered sports, who had brutal punching power but lacked the overall package to be great. Tyson had great power, but also great speed and accuracy. Which Tommy had too, but he was behind Mike in terms of stamina, chin and defence.

Tyson was a master of dodge. At least in his prime. The power punch he unleashed after one of his dodges was higher than Morrisons one imo because the opponent was often unbalanced and surprised. Morrison didnt use the peek a boo.. his style of attack was more regular. Probably they had more or less the same power of hook in the momentum from a standstill.

That shows how Tyson is overrated and how his fans are crazy to hear something like that!
When I heard that Tyson would beat Marciano in 1st and Ali in 4th I got
    diarrhea!
His fans acted like he was fastest,strongest....
That first round KO works on bums with 40 losses not even against bum like Tillis with 22 losses and even needed 5 rounds to beat 40 years old Holmes but to heard that he could beat Marciano in 1st and Ali in 4th is pure ****!
That footwork, speed, power only worked against cab drivers and while his training! The best highlights are his training but not actual fights!
He only looked good on tape while training, beat cab drivers or beating some poor boy to death in sparing but when big fight came he lost!
And about his speed! When he started unleashing hooks on Berbick which put Berbick down I can swear that for that time Patterson,Ali and Dempsey could threw twice more punches! His speed was good for his stocky built and size but he wasn't fastest! Also footwork only worked in highlights because I never see him using footwork!Even Ali who was bigger man showed better footwork in acutal fight!
You can't say how Tyson could beat someone biased on his training highlights, cab drivers and his ******ed fans!
    Prove me that I'm wrong!
Every good HW champion like Marciano,Binavena,Quarry,Frazier and Ali would beat him in late rounds because his bad gass tank! But I can not belive that his ******ed fans could think he could beat Foreman who would destroy him like no one!
To say he would beat Marciano and Ali easy biased on what?Old Holmes,Turpin or Tillis...
Cmon he is and was overrated who got right trainer and promoter nothing better than that and even then he had good trainer and promoter he falied shows how mentally weak he was!

Why? All those fighters were coming to the end, Bruno knocked out Tillis easily too, does that mean he hit harder than Tyson?

He didn`t have the offensive skills of Mike, Mike`s combo`s were amazing and he had great defense coming in.

A washed up shot to shid Tyson waxed Botha with a 8 inch punch.......and Botha had a chin.......Savereasy got waxed basically by one shot too.....Golata said no mas after one overhand right.........Morrison even in his prime never had that success with his pure punching power.......left hooks were about equal IMO but every other punch in the book Tyson throws with more authority.

Above is strictly the Ghost of Mike Tyson, power is the last thing that goes and even in that state his power delivered.

I meant the excuses you made for Tyson being green or not in the exact moment in his prime lol
