No enigma in my opinion. He has the Michael Moorer syndrome where he just blinks out and sleepwalks.

The Joshua fight in the obvious example, but go back and rewatch the Kownacki fight. Anyone who thinks that was close is just wrong--Martin lost six rounds before he woke up.

I actually think Martin could be a top heavy, but he has to come focused. I don't think he lacks heart at all, he just has sparring partner syndrome.

I think he lacks pretty much everything

I said he won the second half not that he won

I like the moorer and sparring partner syndrome explanation. I think if he gets his act together he has potential. I dont think he could beat fury or wilder or Joshua but maybe he could beat the rest if he got his **** together

Martin could win with Robles who knows how to defeat Ruiz, could backfire on Ruiz here.

Most likely people will ignore that Martin is a huge 6”5 southpaw and think it’s an easy fight just like they did with Wallin thinking that was going to be easy for Fury. Boxing don’t work like that some guys are better then given credit for on one bad performance.

I think it would be a battle of whoever is the most motivated.

Andy completely went off the rails after beating AJ. I dont see him getting the same hunger he had prior to the AJ win and becoming rich.

I would give the edge to Charles Martin in a close UD here. He is somewhat underated and Andy is too rich to give a **** for me

I don't have as much faith in Ruiz as people here seem to have. AJ showed us Ruiz can't deal with movement. Like at all. The blueprint is there. It's more likely that a somewhat fit tall guy like Martin can train to run around and jab, then it is a tubby lardo like Ruiz can speed up his feet to catch him.
Gotta watch more Martin fights. To refresh my memory, but I have little faith in Fat Andy. If I had my wish, Andy gets KTFO and we never see him ever around boxing ever again. The guy is a disgrace to the sport that treated him so well.

Whatever Ruiz's flaws, ****ing Martin has never been anything more than a tomato can. He's not a five minute champion, he's a two minute champion. Didn't take much for Joshua to put him on the canvas.
Yeah, the blueprint is there for beating Ruiz but it's one thing to have a blueprint and quite another to execute it.

Actually a interesting fight. Ruiz is a skilled and gifted fighter but like most here said his ego got too big for his own boots. If he cant bring up the desire and motivation he once had... i can see martin picking him apart round for round therefore it wouldnt suprise me if ruiz is done at championship boxing level.

I like Martin, has a very nice left hand. If Ruiz isn't focused, I reckon Martin could upset him.

How much chaos would it sow if Martin actually won?

A challenger that AJ destroyed so easily he became a laughingstock going over the conqueror that (albeit briefly) knocked him off his throne? casual fans' heads (and those of any who time and time again get fooled by triangle-theory) would explode. :sisi1
