We have them in our discord chat most weeks anyway. He's like single-handedly responsible for my entire knowledge of the lower weights(which isn't much yet but still...) and showed me some of the best fights I've ever seen.
@Stonehands89 and I had a brilliant back and forth on Holyfield, Marciano and Foreman as well as RJJ vs SRR many moons ago, I remember. I know I keep on saying I'm back and then disappearing, but I'm back.
Ok so you are really back!! lol Yes he was always a good debate. I used to get him going with my Hagler doubts criticisms and we had many pages on that. Of course he's a well known boxing writer now.
Cool - hope you're well - is MyDinnerWithConteh still punching - acerbic wit - he was definitely a joy to read in the good old days.
I can see the arguments for a number of GOAT contenders in other sports but not in boxing. For me boxing is very rare, if not unique, in that there is one person who is just on another level from everyone else. It's Sugar Ray Robinson. He was extraordinary.
That's very true. Not your original point though There are fighters who really never lost at all in their prime weights. Whether they were young, old, in shape, out of shape etc etc they always won in those weights.
Lol because he is great. Because he fought in those weights, because he had his defining moment at that weight etc etc. When you nominate him as the greatest, I automatically compare him with SRR, Armstrong Charles, Greb, Leonard and with all due respect not Jofre who was also great but a step below.
