Oscar De La Hoya the best boxing resume ever?

Despite the head to head loss to Floyd he’s a far greater fighter in my opinion. Resumes are in the history books forever

 

Oscar was a 34 year old part time fighter. Many people thought he won the fight. Prime for prime at any weight class, Oscar dominates. Floyd has nothing for Oscar.

 

How can a guy who lost many of his biggest fights have the best resume of all time

Agreed! Love DLH but Sturm was robbed here.

 

Quartay and Oba Carr were decent opponents as well. ODH had a great resume.

 

He would be a top 10 ATG at the least with all of those wins.

People who dont know boxing and people with agendas thought oscar won that fight. Pbf landed the cleaner harder shots buckled oscar in round 5 with a hard counter took Oscar's jab away and made his agression ineffective. Pbf won that fight clearly 9-3 or 8-4 at absolute worst. Lastly no one in boxing history dominates a prime pbf from 130-147 with the exception of SRR and hearns, his defense is too good and he's too well rounded. lesser fighters than pbf beat oscar let that sink in wishful thinker.

Walked through him??? When did this happen in your mind? Jcc couldn't walk through light punching pea whitaker who schooled him and got robbed. Duran lost to many guys lesser than pbf stop!

 

Yep. I tried my hardest to score rounds for ODH and still could not give him a W. No idea how anyone scored that for ODH. Had it been the Oscar that fought Mosley the first time and not part-time boxer and cokehead Oscar, I believe Oscar would at least earned a draw.

Were talking Primes here. Not coked out, I dont even have to try to win superstar Chavez here. Montreal Duran makes Floyd retire before the fight is even brought up. Castillo was robbed.

 

Of course to an extent you are correct, but a resume is more than just a win-loss record. DLH gets credit for fighting many world champions and elite fighters. Most people believe he beat Trinidad and Mosley II. He had some gifts too but with the exception of Pac he was competitive in all fights and was only stopped twice. I was never a fan of his, but I believe he had a great resume and I give him credit for fighting almost everyone available and doing very well with the exception of his last fight. (Hopkins was way too big for him but DLH was doing pretty well until the body shot}. I also thought he did relatively well against Mayweather, but clearly lost the fight.

I had him nowhere near. I'd be interested to see who thought Oscar won that fight

Is it the same people who think Canelo deserved a draw against Floyd?
