Does Gerald Washington still have a chance to be a Heavyweight champion ?

Washington should be very pleased with his boxing career. He fought for the title (and gave a good account of himself).

Being an ex football player Washington went farther than anyone could really expected. That being said, at the end of the
day they guy is not a natural fighter. He surprised everyone with his KO of Helenius. But with his beat down at the hands of
Kownacki and one punch KO loss to Charles Martin, Gerald's time has past.. Can still pick up a few more good paydays though.

 

I think his chances of becoming heavyweight champion of the world are much slimmer than his chances of becoming the President of USA

 

He doesn't take a punch well, isn't a very big hitter and has awful stamina for the style that he fights with.

 

Very unlikely. He doesn't have great power, a great chin, or great skills. He can't handle pressure and can't win fights on his skills alone. He's just not got very much going for him.

I'm actually a fan of Washington as he seems like a nice guy and always comes into a fight in shape, unlike his stablemate Breazeale, but he's really just average all round.

 

Gerard Washington will become a trial horse if he fights on or a gatekeeper.

He doesn’t have what it takes to be a champion but will provide a useful test for upcoming prospects

He should take a few more pay days and take up studio work
Guy is very well presented and articulate

 

The style he tends to fight with, jab and box from the outside. He's just not that good at it. Can't control range, or keep fighters off him with his jab, can't stifle come forward aggressors effectively so ends up getting broken down. He needs to get more mustard on his shots, and I'm not sure if that's in him.
