Foreman would have been completely unintimidated by Iron Mike...I can even see him winning the stare down. Iron Mike really did NOT like people who showed no fear. The Foreman who annihilated Norton would have taken a couple of great punches from Mike, but Mike would have had trouble not backing up against George...George's bullying, arm-pushing tactics would keep Mike from pursuing him, and his jab would make things even worse for Mike. Prime George beats prime Mike in 2 rounds. Just my opinion, and because of knowledgeable members here I happen to have a lot more respect for Mike than I did before I came here.
If Foreman an Tyson had of met when it was talked about, the biggest myth in boxing would've been destroyed and put to bed. Foreman isn't taking repeat combos from Tyson, its bull****, people comparing Tyson and Frazier really, when one took a couple of rounds to smoke and the other is the fastest starter in history. Tyson destroys Foreman, Foreman wanted it for the money, he was fighting poor opposition really but the Cus crap has convinced people. Lyle could hurt and drop Foreman heavy, and this in his prime, Tyson rips that version apart too, to fast an offensive off the bat
Horrible points cherry picking different moments In order to make points against Foreman. "If Buster Douglas knocked Tyson out then Foreman would kill him"
all true, Foremans speed would always be his undoing. I'll say the best Tyson beats the best Foreman then, to be clear
Only way I could see Tyson winning is if he uses his hand speed to blitz Foreman early with an all out barrage and forces a stoppage with multiple knockdowns and unanswered shots. And he better hope the ref is quick to wave it off and Foreman doesn't keep getting back to his feet. Tyson cant fight backing up and lacks the strength up close to not get mauled or pushed back (which forces tyson to reset over and over). Tyson's style would get neutralized by the bigger stronger foreman who was an expert at breaking down short aggressive guys. Tyson would be on the receiving end of possibly the heaviest jab in history, along with a a barrage of mouth piece flinging cannonball uppercuts and right hands. This is a bad matchup for Tyson no matter how i look at it. If not for his hand speed this would be a complete a blow out, but that would at least make it hard to predict in the 1st round. And you can forget about Tyson getting off the floor to win if Foreman lands a bomb first. Didn't happen at any point of his career and it certainly wouldn't happen against a guy who would outintimidate him.
Well, it could be argued that Joe was a different fighter from the one who beat Ali FOTC, or more exactly a diminished one. That said, Joe was undefeated, had beat an under-30 Ali (which is WOW in and of itself imo), and was generally already considered an ATG. As far as Norton...Ken was a total badass at the time of the Foreman fight. He broke Ali's jaw (not to mention more than a few people don't think Ali ever beat Norton...PERIOD). Though the Frazier win rocked the world, in certain, specific ways the Norton victory was even more devastatingly impressive. Ali came nowhere NEAR doing ANYTHING like that to Ken...EVER.
Norton's win was not even close to Frazier's win over him. Frazier beat a near prime Ali and whupped his ass decisively. Norton faced a fat slop, broke his jaw early and STILL had to settle for an SD which I'm not even sure he won tbh. Frazier and Futch both men who hated Ali with a passion as well as associates of Norton scored the fight a draw. So Frazier had the much better win and it's not even close. As for the thread, what time period is this and which version of Foreman? Either way I think both versions of Foreman defeat Tyson. BADLY.
In his comeback I mean, Frazier was a monster and my fav heavy ever. Norton was an excellent boxer too
