Ok, I’m bored out my skin so if you fancy putting a ‘W’ next to the fighter that you think wins, we’ll count them up in a few days and decides who makes it to the quarter finals of this illustrious tournament. I’ve picked my own 16 (with 8 seeds which are the names mentioned first) and done a random draw which involved my daughter picking out the random fighters. Wilder v Ortiz came out so I made her do it again as we know that outcome. This is just a bit of fun and discussion if you’re up for it. If there was some actual boxing to talk about, I wouldn’t be wasting my time doing this.

    Joshua v Chisora

    Fury v Miller

    Whyte v Hrgovic

    Pulev v Povetkin

    Wilder v Joyce

    Ruiz v Ortiz

    Usyk v Dubois

    Parker v Hunter

Joe Joyce to beat Wilder? Really???
Joyce is like a sloth and eats right hands.

Had to pick one shock win from the list. I don't think Wilder will be the same again after the beating he took from Fury. Going for Joyce to be tough enough to walk him down, and land big early

    Im with you
Joyce is over looked due to his rather uneasy on the eye approach

    Chin is solid too
Although Jennings showed like Drago body shots could finish him
And Wilder rarely hits bodyshots well

    Joshua
    Fury
    Whyte
    Povetkin
    Wilder
    Ortiz
    Usyk
    Parker

Tough fights for whyte, povetkin, ortiz and parker.

If i could go someone thats most likely for ghd biggest upset it would be chisora v joshua. Joshua should win without too much trouble but anyone decent that goes forward throwing big punches is a danger to joshua.

povetkin vs pulev was tough...Ruiz vs Ortiz depends on which Ruiz turns up but I’m assuming 20stone Ruiz.

Joshua (w) v Chisora - AJ clear favourite in what would be a entertaining scrap whilst it lasts. KO win AJ by uppercutt in the early or mid rounds.

Fury (w) v Miller - 12 round shut out with Fury fighting on the back foot and out boxing the slow footed Miller with ease.

Whyte (w) v Hrgovic - Hrgovic jaw appears a bit suspect to me (dropped by Joyce and rocked by Molina), I see Whyte winning this by KO.

Pulev v Povetkin (W) - Decent fight, however i think Povetkins power, left hook and overall toughness would earn him the win here.

Wilder v Joyce (W) - Despite Joyce having a awful defence and being very open to a big shot from Wilder. There is reason why Wilder has avoided tough, come forward, high pressure fighters carrying power his whole career. Joyce over swarms Wilder, forcing Wilder on the back foot were he is useless and lands numerous shots on Wilder's glass jaw winning this fight in either the first or second round.

Ruiz (W) v Ortiz - Ruiz's hand speed is too much for the 42 + year old with high blood pressure issues. If Hammer can trouble Ortiz with counters and find it easy to land then Ruiz is going to school him.

Usyk (w) v Dubois - Usyk gives him a boxing lesson, working him out in the early rounds and and breaks him down in the later round and stops him.

Parker v Hunter (W) - By far the toughest fight to pick a winner for (I've change my mind several times thinking about it). I think it would be a close fight and I can see it going either way 115-113. If I had to choose, I'd probably lean towards Hunter due to having the better movement, foot work of the two and better at judging/controlling the distance.
