Ward butted Kessler. Not one to brag about.

Do shut up please! It’s like saying Calzaghe slaps. Ward stopped Kessler beating the living daylights out of him.

Like Calzaghe slaps. Behave yourself. Calzaghe was good Ward was simply even better. The difference between them is Ward beat the top guys at their peak which Calzaghe to a large extent did not. Let’s be perfectly honest Robin Reid defeated Calzaghe.

    in your opinion
It was a tight fight, but not a Calzaghe at his best. He had serious career ending injuries when he went in with Reid, his hands were shot !

A few fights previous people had noted Kovalev was not firing like he used too, 2 or 3 fights before Ward he was having problems with fighters he should've dealt with easier. His lifestyle and drinking was no secret

Reidy got jobbed that night yeah just like Kovalev did in the first fight with Ward. Both men's records are similar in that there is a mix of good and average names and performances.

Calzaghe. Just the much better boxer.

Wards only chance would be headbutts and low blows.

Ward beats Calzaghe by using dirty tricks such as head-butt, low blow, and biting.

I pick Ward. I believe he neutralizes Calzaghe speed with his excellent timing. He also fights Calzaghe close up in his chest working his body to slow down his work rate.

Who was he having problems against 2 or 3 fights before Ward? I have a feeling you might be talking out of your ass here. He didn’t look great against Isaac Chilemba in his previous bout, but noone looks great against Chilemba. Before that, he smashed Pascal into submission in their rematch, before that he smoked Mohammadi putting him down face first with a jab.

If anything, Kovalev was at his absolute peak 2-3 fights before Ward.
