Yeah, probably. He won't be the hardest hitter, though. Or even top 3.

Considering he's fought and succeeded highly at heavyweight in the amateurs, equivalent to cruiser, yeah he could do well there.

Here's his HW record in the amateurs albeit it could possibly be missing a few fights. As you can see he stopped a lot of his opponents even though he wasn't a natural HW and he was giving away a lot of weight. I'm sure I remember reading somewhere him saying he only weighed 84kg when he campaigned up at HW in the amateurs.

2010 – Russian National Championships 2nd place – 91KG Lost to Pavel Nikitayev (RUS) 12:3 in the final; Won against Abdulkhamid Nurmagomedov (RUS) AB 2nd round in the semifinal; Won against Pavel Shulskiy (RUS) WO in the quarterfinal

Q: Oleksandr, you won most everything as an amateur, including the gold at the 2012 Olympics. Who would you say gave you your hardest fight as an amateur?

Oleksandr Usyk: “Well, all those fights, they all took place within the last couple of years or so, so it’s hard to say. Maybe, if I was pushed to say, it was Artur Beterbiev of Russia who gave me my roughest fight. He is very aggressive and he does hit very hard.

Both monsters, to much natural size though for me and Gassiev cracks a good bit harder imo and is unmovable. Gassiev by KO out of nowhere
