Get out of here with your inadequate scoring app. Nothing is better than an honest person tabulating in his own mind while taking into account all scoring criteria. CompuBox is not a way to score fights.
divac my frend, even honest person cannot hold in his head every punch in the round but sometimes this one punch can decide the round and the whole fight. Peace to you!
He landed some massive body shots. Just because Ali didn't react to them doesn't mean they aren't good scoring shots.
It's a very difficult round to score.... It should be Foreman's round on sheer work rate and aggression, yet Ali's work was more effective in the outcome of the fight. Truth be told it didn't matter who won the round. Psychologically Ali went back to his corner happier at the end of the round than George. On paper probably George's round.
Wow! Could those ropes have been any looser? Ali rested for most of that round and fought a little at the end. He looked comfy like he was lounging in a hammock. George missed a lot but he landed some big body shots and Ali took them without blinking. I miss the days when heavyweight boxing was king.
Judging a round is not about counting punches. When you're experienced and have watched many fights, you get a good sense just watching on who threw and who landed more punches in a round. If you're judging a round, you can only estimate who's throwing and landing the punches. In many instances the punches landed are fairly comparable and so it automatically becomes a matter of who landed cleaner and harder shots. Its a little bit trickier and harder to judge a round where one fighter lands more but the other fighter lands cleaner and harder. In this instance you have to take into account by how much did the fighter who landed more outlanded him by to decide who won the round. Personally if the disparity is say 60% to 40% I tend to give the round to the fighter I feel landed the cleaner harder shots. When the fighter landing less effectively outlands his opponent by well over 60%, then at least on my card the probability is that I'll give the round to the fighter who landed more despite the fact that the other fighter might have landed cleaner and harder shots. Every circumstance is different but in general that's how I tend to score rounds. I
