I'm not. Still. 14 years of marriage. My new mantras are: "Never put anything past anybody, even yourself." "People do crazy sh*t when they're hurt." It's still a mess. A continuously changing mess.
Well this forum is pretty sound, so you could talk to any of us here or on the lounge if you wanted (even though I am a snot nosed punk lol). And I'm sure you can get through it.
Yeah, the more that I think about it, I think it's a reverse causation problem. The young people who are most predisposed to hero-worship certain past boxers are also probably most like to seek out and watch and rewatch their highlight videos. But those guys would still hero worship and spout unrealistic assessments of their favorite boxers even without the highlight videos. At the very least, the youngsters who weaned on diets of highlight videos probably aren't any worse off than the ones from previous generations who were weaned on Fleischer, Sugar, and whatever conventional wisdom boxing cliches their uncles and grandpas shared with them.
Been trying to watch at least one match per day lately around my work-at-home schedule. Tommy Morrison-Truth Williams and Ken Norton-Jerry Quarry so far this weekend. Thinking about Duran-Dejesus III or Arguello-Jose Luis Ramirez tonight.
This came off way too arrogant. Not how I meant it, I meant I'm a sad ******* who watches too many men weighing 175lbs
Hahaha. Can you review that list of 70s/80s light heavy clashes I sent you and let me know if there are any others you'd add from that time period?
I'm literally watching Saad Muhammad in about 5 minutes... Yeah, sure I'll go through and find some for you.
