I am not talking about the story of the fight whatever that means I view the fight and score appropriately.
I'm saying a lot of people who talk about the adjustments give Ward too much credit for working his way back into the he fight. They started scoring close rounds he was losing for him as he looked a lot more impressive in them than the ones he lost handily at the start of the fight.
A lot of rounds might have be close and difficult to score decisively but that does not mean Ward was not winning them. He was the better ring General. Ring Generalship is sometimes an overlooked attribute.
We all bend the rules a bit, indaily life etc , but in the Kessler (who is a gent) Ward fight it got so bad that you might as well say forget the rules, Wards head did all the damage, that did his repitation no good at all IMO. You said "...thing about Ward’s career is there are no “ifs” and “buts” The last word alone is a pun Buts....ward = Buts headbuts...Really how can you say" No if's or buts" after the 2 kovalev fights ...Weekes was bought & paid for & cashed his cheque alongside Adelaid Byrd...it was a disgrace. man you come across reasonable , i like your style, but i think its a bit skewed here ...
It's absolutely despicable and completely indefensible and something I would fall out with my best mate over if they tried to defend it. Neutral judges
I don’t know if Kessler is a Gent or not. What I do know is that he is a good fighter of Viking stock. A true Viking like Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons. You say Ward’s head did all the damage neglecting that Ward’s fists kept him Kessler’s face consistently and continous you. I would say the win did Ward’s reputation a lot of good winning the world title and set him on course to win the super 6 having comprehensively defeated the pre-tournament favourite. You may not like Tony Weekes and Adelaide Byrd but you don’t have any evidence that this respected officials were paid either. The truth of the matter is that a lot of you dislike Ward which is your prerogative after all you can’t like everybody. You call Kessler a Gent. I have to ask have you met him or know him personally to say that? I met Andre Ward in 2012 in Las Vegas. We did not know each other but when we spoke you could not meet a nicer Gentleman so dignified so classy so gracious. If you did not know you might think he was a doctor, magistrate just a pillar of society. I think any sincere appraisal of Ward will see that you guys his detractors are the ones whose opinions are skewered. This is a guy who is God fearing, loves his pretty wife Tiffany who happens to be his childhood sweet heart has 5 kids with her, loves his trainer his God father Virgil Hunter who has been a surrogate Dad to him, speaks well, a respectful commentator. I mean he even says nice things about Carl Froch who he trounced and Froch can only make snide comments about Ward. Interestingly when Calzaghe retired Ward was one of the first guys to congratulate and pay homage to Calzaghe’s outstanding long career. I really think the haters need to step back and admit they were wrong about this guy. I admire him as a fighter and as a man. If your only daughter brought home a guy like Ward as the guy she wants to marry you would be proud. I wonder if their more to this hatred of Ward than meets the eye.
Perhaps the reason Kovalev lost is because he does not listen to his trainers. In an earlier post you reference his drinking etc which was not a problem in other fights when he was Krushing people until he met resistance from another great fighter in Ward then he started to malfunction.
The hatred of Ward is unbalanced and unhinged! It really is. Please look at your posts. Did Andre personally insult you or cause some distress we are not aware of?
You make alot of assumptions in this post. You do not have to personally meet someone to tell their character , I never met Martin Luthor King, but from what I have read & film etc I asctain he is a man of good character , I also put Muhamad Ali in the same category. I am really not inerested in any Boxers past or future roamantic or married life, i like to watch boxing not follow their home life. In the main , I guess most are decent guys ,like most here i would imagine. I am in total agreement about Froch, a "reasonable Fighter" & I do say that with gritted teeth, you have to be a Reasonable fighter to obtain & hold a world chamionship boxing title imo, so I'll give him that, but I do not like or respect his character. Somewhere on here, in the past I have posted that war d beat froch thoroughly & convincingly as it gets & would do so evrey time they met only to be shouted down about Frochs fights with Kessler made Froch better etc Nonsense. I am no Ward hater at all ,but I do expect the rules to be followed & imo , a Pillar of society would renounce the verdict of a win when he knows the judges were in his promoters pocket.... One of the nicest gents I ever met was a charity Fund raiser manger, he sold me a lovely car. 8 mths later I had the a bank Official knocking on my door telling me this lovely guy had sold 5 cars on credit & the one I had bought was on a personal Bank loan , they could not take it from me as long as I could prove i did not know the guy. Luckily I am a bit of a stickler for paperwork & I had kept the orginal advert from the magazine ...point is this "Lovely Guy"- I met twice ...not once in vegas but twice once in his rented home & once in my own home,,,- did not know this , so was willing to see me lose my money & car...hence I follow..."Never trust a smiling cat" . I was brought up by my wonderful Jamaican grandmother & she has the best, the very best sayings that heve helped me well through life !
Dear Sir you were the one who initially referred to Kessler as a Gent. I said I don’t know whether he is or not but I can speak of Ward who I have met, spoken to , interacted with and observed. I can say Ward is a Gent with more evidence than your assumption about Kessler though I have no reason not to think Kessler is a respectable member of society. Why would you expect Ward to renounce a verdict he won and more importantly a verdict he believed he won fairly. It was no robbery. To satisfy Kovalev and those like you who thought the wrong man won he gave him the immediate rematch and kicked his ass more emphatically. Case closed on this one really. By the way sorry about the bank official. Personally don’t like or trust bankers myself. Your Jamaican Grand Mother was a wonderful woman who raised you right and you are a credit to her Sir.
