It's a nasty shitty virus and I'm afraid that it's going to feature in our life's for a long time. Even when we all get to to some kind of normality in the world, and God knows when that'll be, this virus won't just disappear.
I've got elderly ill parents, this thing is very worrying.
I hope everyone on here s OK now and in the future.

Right. Don't go on numbers from China and Iran, they lie. Go with Italy or New York City. The quality fo care is very good in NY City, they have lost close to 2,000 people already.

This virus is very dangerous in populated areas.

Yes, that's factual. It's the least populated part of northern Europe so you can imagine it's attractive to people right now. The population density is so much lower than England it's hard to believe.

I mentioned it above. You can look up the worldwide stats but here are the US numbers.. During the winter-spring of 1957-58, the Hong Kong flu claimed 118,000 US lives when the population was roughly half what it is today. Thus that would be the equivalent of 240,000 lives claimed today. The 1968 Flu claimed 100,000 US lives when the population was about 57% what it is today.

Koreatown was one of the best places I went to when I visited LA. And exactly because it felt like a distinct culture from the rest of LA.

Just a quick look as to my view on Scotland...my older daughter told me she was getting married in Scotland. I told her I'd SKYPE in my attendance.

I do like Kelly MacDonald though.

I remember the Hong Kong flu (is that racist? LOL). Keep in mind that figure of 118,00 deaths came with absolutely no mitigation at all...no shelter in place orders, no keep your distance orders, no businesses closing down. Think about if we took no action today against the Wuhan flu....the figures Fauci and Birx are using (100,000-200,000) are based on FLATTENING the death curve. It would be orders of magnitude higher if we and the rest of the world took no action.

There is no comparison between the HK flu and the Wuhan virus with respect to how many people would die without mitigation.
    Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Yeah it’s got a great food scene. Lively bar scene too. It’s a little dirty in a lot of parts but good location since you are like 5 minutes from downtown. Ktown is the most second most densely populated part of Cali behind San Fran.

Anybody else feel China are lying about the numbers? They tried their best to withold this virus from the world.

Yes, but I think it's more about controlling their population than the rest of us.
