Yeah very good as well, some great fighters in the past, the present fighters dont fight often enough tonoutdo them but what theyve lost in resume theyve gained in money and health.

I generally break it down into eras for comparison these days because you just cant compare a moderns fighters career to those from the early to mid 1900s. Things are too different now.

Yeah man too right, fighters used to fight top fighters back to back only weeks apart max. No way the modern fellas can compete.

Lewis resume quality and depth wise is brilliant with wins over Hollyfield, Tyson, Vitalli, Tua, Mercer, Golota, Briggs, Bruno, Morrison, Rahman, Grant, Tucker, Botha and Ruddock. Avenging his only 2 loses (Granted the McCall rematch should never have been allowed to take place due to Mccalls mental health).

Just out curiosity how many Greb fights have seen? I've never managed to have seen any footage?

I've only managed to see a couple fights of the limited footage available of Armstrong. Yes his fight against Barney Ross was gruelling and entertaining fight. However lets be honest comparing Armstrong to fighters of the past 40 years there is an obvious and clear gulf in ability and technique . Armstong just buries his head into opponents chest, starts swinging with little to no defence whilst his foot work makes him like his feet are in cement blocks.

Have you managed to see enough footage of Mayweather or Pacquaio? Lewis's resume isn't even on the same stratosphere as those two, let alone Greb, Armstrong, Ali, SRR or Duran.

Duran has a great resume. His resume is very impressive even if you start after the SRL No Mas fight.

Sugar Ray Leonard probably has one of the best record with the least amount of fights, beating all of the fab-4 (except Hagler IMO, but Leonard got the decision)
    He only had 40 fights.

    Standout names he beat:

    Hearns
    Duran
    Hagler
    Benitez
    Mayweather's dad

Leonard stopped Hearns, Benitez and Kalule for their first losses, that's very impressive. And Duran's loss against him was only his 2nd one after 74 fights. A very outstanding resume for just 40 fights.

Truthfully, if opponents like Ralph Zanelli, Ayub Kalule, Erminio Spalla and Denny Moyer are getting shout outs as big wins ... Mayweather belongs in the mix, too. People shouldn't just dismiss him with a wave of the hand.

Manny Pacquio is an eight-division champ (and still has a title).
Oscar De La Hoya was a six-division champ.
Canelo Alvarez is a four-division champ (and still has a title).
Miguel Cotto was a four-division champ.
Juan Manuel Marquez was a four-division champ.
Shane Mosley was a three-division champ.
Diego Corrales was a two-division champ.
Zab Judah was a two-division champ.
Ricky Hatton was a two-division champ.
Marcos Maidana was a two-division champ.
Arturo Gatti was a two-division champ.
Robert Guerrero was a two-division champ.
Jesus Chavez was a two-division champ.
Jose Luis Castillo was a two-time Lightweight champ.
Gernaro Hernandez was a two-time super featherweight champ.
Andre Berto was a two-time welterweight champ.
Sharmba Mitchell was a two-time champ.
Carlos Baldomir was the World Welterweight champ.
Victor Ortiz was an alphabet beltholder.
Demarcus Corley was an alphabet beltholder.
Gregorio Vargas was a former alphabet beltholder.
Angel Manfredy and Philip Ndou were WBU champs, which was "a thing" for a while, depending on where you lived in the world.

Granted, he didn't fight them all five times, but he got paid millions instead of a couple thousand, so he didn't have to in order to eat. Which, you could argue, made his "hunger" to win even more impressive. If Robinson could've earned a living tap dancing, he'd have done that instead.

The number of champs Mayweather fought stacks up against any of them. And you can actually watch all those fights. You don't have to be stuck with just reading a newspaper report about it.

I'm not saying he should be at the top. But he's in the conversation.

He's right up there. Personally, if he had more KOs, I think he'd be a lock. But outboxing them was solid, too.

If you're basing it soley on resume, it's gotta go to Greb.

Gotta be Pacquiao, the different weights, the quality of opposition, the trilogies, the memorable fights ( no one wants to rewatch Mayweather fights) and the fact he's still going and adding to that resume, with Thurman recently and who knows next!
