Maybe, maybe, maybe. Let's be realistic here. He didn't get dehydrated from a run after the weigh-in. Don't be ridiculous. Comparing party-goers to a professional athlete is laughable. Again, the sensible and logical thing to have done would have been to have taken on normal fluids. These are the facts of the matter: IVs are illegal by VADA, as they've been used in the past as masking agents. Floyd didn't report that he'd had an IV. If proper procedure had been followed, it would have been classed as a medical emergency, with admittance to a hospital. A TUE was given over 2 weeks AFTER the fight. Now we know that you hero worship Floyd, but you really need to look into the role that VADA and USADA play in the boxing world. I've looked into it. I've read many articles, including Hauser's, where there's still unanswered questions and clear signs of corruption. It's both fascinating and worrying at the same time, as below: Up until Hauser's articles, USADA had tested over 1500 fighters, yet only ONE had been officially and publically declared as showing up as being positive. One! And that was over a period of 8 years. Think about that. An 8 year period! VADA had more positive cases in a single week, than what USADA had in almost a decade. A single week. VADA banned BJS and Canelo amongst others. USADA often keep things in-house, and don't even notify the state commissions. And after Hauser's article was published, USADA stopped testing fighters and admitted that they'd had more than one positive test, but that they were adjudicated internally. Think about that. The executive of the California State Athletic Commision has told the promoters he works alongside, that he would prefer all of the fighters to be undertake VADA testing instead of USADA, as they're far more respected and more comprehensive. At the end of each of your posts, you keep telling us that Floyd was cleared by Bob Bennett etc, and that nobody else involved in the promotion said anything. Well, look at the above. The whole thing reeks of corruption and incompetence. So you telling me that everything was legit because guys like Bennett said so, doesn't mean a damn thing. Floyd's excuse was illogical, USADA are weak, and Bennett authorising a TUE 18 days AFTER the fight, is one of the most ridiculous things that I've ever heard. The whole thing was a joke from start to finish.
I'd have loved to have seen him fight Beterbiev. He's immensely strong. I'd have loved to have seen how their styles would have meshed. But you can't say that Andre shamelessly ducked an 11 fight novice. That's ridiculous. He simply retired. So how is it a duck? How was he specifically ducking him? It's not like they were scheduled to fight and Ward fought somebody else etc.
Fair enough. Andre didn’t technically duck AB. He skipped out of the division into retirement rather than defend the belt against an opponent who wasn’t an aging alcoholic. It’s his right as a fighter and I was happy to see him retire with all of his marbles. Just a little disappointed we didn’t see him against a prime challenger, especially since he was in prime condition when he called it quits. Stay safe!
