The best record of 168 wins I'm going with Chris Eubank - Watson, Thornton, Malinga, Holmes, Rocchigiani and the draw with Benn.

Dawson is on par with that despite being drained down 8 ****ing pounds below his natural weight which is just dangerous? No, just hell no, Richie Woodhall, Byron Mitchell, Robin Reid, Charles Brewer and Mario Veit are all much better than him in that shape.

Roy Jones came down from HW lol. These stickler points never go both ways. I didn't even put Dawson in his top wins, but go off king. If you don't think beating the LHW champ is more significant than beating Robin Reid, idk what to tell you.

Nobody denies Kessler win was a really good one but to say he is far better than Chris Eubank Sr is not something even Joe Calzaghe himself believes. An past his prime coming out of retirement Eubank Sr took into deep waters and Super Joe says it was his toughest fight.

Why? Because he had a win over froch in the amateurs or because the ring mag had him at 10 at the time?

I can guess how many on ESB who have never watched the fights tend to say that.
I would have no problem with someone scoring some of the fights against ottke if they genuinely watched the fights rather than listened to people on ESB who have watched a few highlights to suit an agenda.
I can't recall for sure now but think I may have felt Larsen had shaded it but many of the time people haven't watched the fights.

    A close fight isn't necessarily a robbery

How many do you feel were robberies?

You have to go by resume

I think after Calzaghe it would be Eubank and then after Eubank, Ottke.
Those 3 have resumes above the rest of the division.

After that I think it can be debatable but possibly
Collins - a win over undefeated Eubank, then another win over Eubank, 2 wins over Benn and a win over Sellier

Might just be enough to take 4th

    Calzaghe's resume wasn't as strong as Eubank's.

We are talking SMW here and Eubanks resume is not greater.
Don't get me wrong. It is good but not better.
What do you consider as Eubanks best SMW win? Rocchigiani maybe?

I don't think he would make the top 5 either.
I think Kessler's resume at the weight is better as well.
Sure ward has a win over a faded Kessler
After that Kessler holds a better win over froch,
Kessler then has the beyer win, sartison win, andrade win, siaca win, haussler win, Lucas win.
Even throw in the magee win as well
Yes overall I would rate it higher I think

    Ottke's wins actually were wins.

He was in some close fights, but he never was the beneficiary of a clear robbery like Ward-Kovalev I. And no ref ever gave him a TKO for a low blow, like the rotten ref did for Ward in Ward-Kovalev II.

There are some similarities. Ottke never had a title fight outside Germany, just like Ward never had a title fight or a fight against a decent opponent outside the USA.

Yet Ottke was never a dirty fighter, he didn't rely on head butts, holding and low-blows to win. And Ottke's bronze medal in the world championships was fairly won, while Ward was a beneficiary of a robbery in the semi-final at the Olympics.

Eubank was age 29 when he was schooled by Calzaghe. Hardly and old man.

Eubank was nothing special, except in the minds of some English fans. He lost twice to Collins.

Jones or Toney would have made easy work of Eubank.

He only just scraped past another Irishman Ray Close TWICE aswell.. he actually looked inept at times against close..

Calzaghe would have beaten ANY version of Eubank.

Toney struggled past a fair few opponents he was a heavy favourite himself.
