Walcott was a lot like Jack Johnson. He lived fast, and worried about the consequences later. Perhaps that is why they got on!
The difference between a revolver and a semiautomatic pistol is probably very important to what happened there.
In 1904, Walcott was most likely familiar with single action revolvers. They work differently than a semi automatic; the semi auto will fire every time you pull the trigger. With a single action you have to **** the hammer before you can pull the trigger.
That might be a very valid point! Almost every contemporary account calls it a revolver, presumably because that is what was around at the time, and that was the generic word. Semi automatic pistol is such an unusual term for the era, and such a rare gun for the era, that you have to think that it must have been one!
It could have worked the same way if he was accustomed to single action revolvers and his new revolver was double action.
Just a side note, I wish the state of Ohio or the city of Dayton would commission the building of a proper headstone for Walcott, his is waisting away, it’d be nice to get a new one built
C,mon Janitor, you know your boxing well enough, it was the extreme heat that brought down Ray, Joey was being schooled for most of the fight, on balance I go with Bukkake on this, just my opinion as always.
