People on here will never believe that there are harder fights outside the ring with no Queensbury rules, sometimes with numerous opponents armed with bats, poles and knives if you are lucky plus guns if you are unlucky, no referee to stop the fight which ends when the opponent (s) decides when one has had enough which in some cases is not just unconscious but crippled for life or death. Got to say that one would rather take an icing from a hard hitting heavyweight in the ring than face the above.
Agreed. It’s ironic that the type of situation you mention almost always involve top **** houses who would be scared to get in the ring.
Nearly all of those people wouldn't last 2 minutes in the ring but equally any boxer would not last too long out of the ring if attacked by one of these mobs - some of these fookers lack any fear mate even though their lifestyle usually results in long prison sentences of 15 years plus or death.
Agree, in my own cases it was always mob handed and normally people tooled up, always pissed up. I dont want it to sound like I was a trouble maker or Mr unpopular, as I was neither. These things can just happen in a scheme (estate) over the stupitist, or most random things, and people tend to wait till they are drunk/cooked up with all their pals before becoming brave and suddenly having issues.
Absolutely, it's a cultural change thats made things worse. When my dad was young, all working class areas in Glasgow had a bit of land were people with any issues would go and have a square go on a sunday. No weapons no nothing. Normally their would be a few different people settling their differences, crowd would watch anyone tried jumping in the crowd battered them. They the shock hands and it was over. But then most of the guys worked on shipyards eg and could fight now most people couldnt batter a fish without their mates help. Sad but true.
Agreed. But they are full of fear when they’re on their own with no weapons. But then how far do you go if you do that because as mentioned unless you kill them (and nobody finds out) there will be retribution with gangs, weapons and they’ll go for your family. Best just avoiding characters like that like the plague because you’ll end up between a rock and a hard place.
I’ve seen decent pro boxers come into a Thai gym and be phenomenal at stand up sparring, but then get absolutely destroyed by relative intermediate level amateurs as soon as knees, elbows and especially leg kicks are introduced. Try taking a thigh kick when the majority of your weight is on your lead leg.... horses for courses.
