Am I dreaming, or is that not a picture of Mike Tyson in the article?

The article said that he was picked up again on disorderly conduct. I'll be the first to admit that when he was briefly out just after Fury won the title, I wanted to see Fury-Ibeabucchi, but If the guy just can't behave, send him home for good. He should be Nigeria's problem.

For that matter, if he is being railroaded for some reason, then send him home so he can at least walk free.

Why is Ike being treated so despicably. To start with he was held in prison for 14 months with no charges ever being made because they had no proof he'd done anything wrong only a hookers word. While they kept badgering him to cop a plea promising him he'd be out & back boxing in 6 months
Ike maintained his innocence throughout that time until at last he agreed to plead no contest. The woman judge railroaded him by awarding him the maximum sentence she could. No reason has ever been given why they keep slamming him back in jail He needs a good lawyer behind him & he could OWN the NSAC

He's dangerously insane and has been for 20 years. He should be deported back to Nigeria and never allowed back in the country. Enough taxpayer money has been spent housing, monitoring, detaining, educating and treating him.

Eric Bottjer: He’s the only fighter I’ve ever worked with who was mentally ill. The cliché, when you work with certain fighters, “Oh, he’s crazy, he’s nuts,” because they misbehave and they do things that normal people wouldn’t do. But Ibeabuchi was mentally ill. And was a dangerous person. And made a lot of people around him uncomfortable because of that. I knew that from the beginning. And questioned why we were even promoting him. I had a conversation one day with Cedric, I said, when he was trying to get him out of jail the first time, I said, “Do you really want to be on ESPN one day as the promoter of the world heavyweight champion who murdered somebody? Because this guy is very capable of doing that.” And, you know, because he’s an athlete and because he can produce money, everyone that saw that end of him worked to get him out of the situations that he put himself in. And it was the wrong thing to do. I was point blank. I said, “This guy’s crazy. He’s going to hurt somebody. I don’t want it to be me or you or anybody else. But he’s quite capable of killing somebody.”

'Bat**** crazy' doesn't justify 20 yrs incarceration for two assaults.

Are you for real! The guy is a sexual predator. Get it right, not just two assaults like you claim above. Read below and try and tell me this guy should be on the streets. Multiple examples of bat **** crazy and being a danger to society.

I knew Ike from the time he first walked into Curtis Cokes Home of Champions gym & declared he was going to be HW champion of the world & no one could beat him. Ike was no angel but neither was he the monster some claim. His first year with Curtis he entered the Dallas golden gloves,
He marched through to the Nationals & only lost to a very debatable decision. The saying was Ike was never going to win a dec regardless the only mistake he made was not KO ing the guy
Curtis transformed him from a crude brawler to being the perfect boxer/puncher . Curtis is the man I also feel sorry for. He had Ike the man everyone that knew him, regarded as the successor to Lennox Lewis
Whether he would have beaten Lennox we'll never know but he would certainly have beaten everyone else. Yes Ike had his problems BUT Wouldnt you if you were kept heavily sedated for 14 months while being badgered him to cop a plea Just in case he did something. He eventually conceded to plead no contest & the rest is history He was sold down the river. Ike was one of boxings greatest tragedies

Ike arguably lost to Tua. To say he was unbeatable is hyperbolic nonsense.

No one ever said he was unbeatable Everyone is. But I disagree with you
saying David Tua won that fight. I picked Ike to beat Tua on a site I was on & got ridiculed because no one had heard of him After the fight their posts were " Where have you been hiding him he was awesome"

Everyone who is defending him is seems to be ignoring the facts:

He denied the accusations and was initially released and placed under house arrest to enable him to train and fight pending his trial. Matters were made worse by the reopening of a previous case of sexual assault against him. The incident had occurred eight months earlier at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. He was rearrested and remanded in custody after a number of similar allegations came to light in Arizona.

The guy is behind bars because he is an identified serial sex predator, with multiple incidents.

For those who claim to have known him and insist "he wasn't that bad," you are not the arbiter of that that. Great, you know him. That will forever be your claim to fame, and more power to you. It doesn't give you authority to pronounce him innocent. The guy is a criminal, has been found to be such by the justice system, and to pretend otherwise, as if there was some conspiracy against him, is delusional.

    POST SCRIPT:
    Another gem here...
The conviction rocked the boxing world, but not more than it did his mother. Ike was all she had and his sentencing left her in bits. She was adamant that he was innocent, however, and insisted he had fallen victim to a wicked conspiracy. She claimed promoters had tapped their phones, broken into their home, put chemicals in all of their food and drink and paid women to come forward with sexual assault allegations against her son

Believe what you want your choice BUT I know I'd rather believe the word of a guy I'd seen on almost a day to day basis for 4 or 5 years than the word of a lowlife Vegas hooker who only came to his room to "dance for him" ROFLMAO Why wasnt she indicted for prostitution???

You are completely ignoring the fact that at least four women have accused him of sexual assault, there was the car-crash incident which you also tried to explain away, and multiple law-enforcement agencies and psychiatric evaluators have determined that he is dangerous.

So yeah, I am going with all of them and not you. I don't know if you even knew him or not, as you are just a guy on the internet. Regardless, you aren't a lawyer, judge, law-enforcement official, psychiatrist, accuser, or defendant. You really don't know anything about it at all other than your subjective and biased opinion that he wasn't that bad. You are basically just name-dropping, here.

I have no idea why she wasn't indicted for prostitution, but it may have something to do with the fact that dancing is not illegal. In any event, it is completely irrelevant to his behavior.
