The best version of Spinks (if you want him to come in under or over 200, your prerogative) vs

    Jersey Joe Walcott and
    Bert Cooper

How does Spinks fare against them?

I like Spinks over both although Jersey Joe would certainly have his moments. Bert Cooper was a tough guy in his prime but to me Spinks was far to versatile for him. Jersey Joe would be a very interesting fight. I see Spinks via UD against both.

175 Spinks ices Walcott, whilst up on points. He'd also out-box Cooper, using similar tactics as he did vs Qawi.

Based on what? Losing twice to an ancient Joe Louis? Getting his ass kicked by Marciano? Being comfortably out-boxed by Charles on 3 separate occasions? How about getting beat by Rex Layne? How about his 5 fight run of controversy and/or losses against Joey Maxim and Elmer Ray?

Walcott ain't all that. He's overrated as ****.

Well i see that you forgot to mention that he was kicking the ass of marciano for 12 rounds and then he got catched by a legend in the round 13 but in a 12 rounder walcott would have won The decision with a hand in back . he knocked out ezzard charles who is probably the greatest lhw ever and Louis was more time in the floor than he was on his feet against walcott.

He beats both. But both men would be very tough propositions. As mentioned Joe Walcott defeated a still very good version of Ezzard Charles twice along with Elmer Ray and a handful of other contenders while also giving both Louis and Marciano good fights. Bert cooper was a ferocious hitter who fought like he had nothing to lose. Evander Holyfield and Michael Moorer certainly didn’t find him as being a soft touch.

Spinks stops Cooper, despite a rough few rounds. Spinks tko 9.
Walcott should be able to beat Spinks but really depends on which day you catch him on!

I agree except i don't see him sttoping Cooper, i see more a decision for spinks because he would respect his power and would choose boxing in circle around of the ring

That's a possibility but i see a bust up, worn out stopped on his feet, type win for Spinks.

That was an ass kicking? it was a 7-5 fight before Marciano leveled him, and furthermore; Marciano was winning before he was blinded, and winning before the KO.

The Charles KO was a fluke. He landed the best punch of his career in an even fight, and couldn't ever replicate it. He would also be out boxed by Charles again in the next fight, winning a controversial decision and only getting by because of how negatively Charles fought late.

Louis was old as **** and still beat him. Twice.

Personally, I think Spinks would need to be in his 200 pound form to have a chance at "icing" Walcott.

so all you did was inventing under your own point of view and throwing **** to the great performances that he had against several of the best boxers ever. obviously you ignore a lot about many of the old school fighters, walcott lost against a few guys that he should not have lost against because he did not have an easy way of life, probably spinks was happy with his modern life, well paid and living like a rich guy only from the boxing. walcott had to work besides from boxing. but when the guy could have a better life and training seriously he proved thats he was a tremendous fighter. knocking out a legend like ezzard charles is no fluke , it is a bull****, you have to know what you are doing on the
ring to score a ko against this type of fighter
