Just picked up a copy. I really enjoy his writing and look forward to reading the book some time this week or next. Has anyone read it or heard anything about it?

Thanks a million! It's a grim time, but hopefully the book will serve as a distraction.

Anybody can write a book and state facts, it takes talent to turn words into art and Acevedo does. Will read this book forever.

Going to order it today. Haven't read a great boxing book since Nick Tosches Devil and Sonny Liston. The Mike Quarry/Davey Moore stuff sounds interesting. Can't wait!

Does it go over Panama Lewis, and the black arts of boxing he taught?

Thanks so much! The book won't make me a millionaire but it's fulfilling to know that some people are enjoying it.

How about this .. as I like to tell A. Pollack, you're establishing a legacy of outstanding work.

Very interesting story on Sanchez Gomez .. had no ride Gomez was so poorly prepared, over confident and had to loose four pounds the day of the fight .. it explains a lot about his performance ..great read.
