The Terror a.k.a The eXecutioner a.k.a The Alien a.k.a The Ageless Wonder a.k.a The Old Master Feinter from the Faraway Hills a.k.a The Economic Threat had moments between 2007 and 2017 that were ignominious to varying degrees (playing for a breather vs. Joe, playing to the official in the Roy rematch, being repeatedly dropped in the first Pascal bout, possibly simulating injury and copping out of the first Dawson bout, being knocked out of the ring and stopped in the Smith farewell), but he had plenty of glory past 40 and left some indelible, colorful memories for fight fans.
I'm a fan of his and that's why it was sad to watch. You want to remember the ATGs at their best. And yes he still seems lucid but CTE can go downhill fast. And just because he seems fine now doesn't mean it couldn't have gone horribly wrong. Think about how his family must have felt the last 10 years
