Devin Haney becomes world champion again

Does anybody rate this guy much? He's decidedly B level, which is no crime, but he's also NyQuil to watch.

And that Dapper Dan/Gucci robe is corny. Wish more of these guys would focus on becoming something before pulling the flashy stuff.

 

He's a prospect imo. And he's had some good fights, but he's also looked dull in his last. Happens to every fighter.

 

He has that Diet Floyd thing going on, without enough substantive shades of the qualities that made the genuine article worth watching. I'm just looking for something inspiring to get behind in these fellas.

With that said, he and Campbell could make a good match.

 

Sooner or later these guys will start learning that there won't be another Floyd ever, or at least in a very long time, you just don't replace Floyd's character, there was an art to what Floyd did and I doubt it can be replicated this soon.

So soon enough when they can't draw people, they'll have to fight more eye pleasing.

The ridiculous part(if you forget Loma and the Franchise belt) is that they actually stripped Haney.
Campell-Fortuna was for the actual full WBC belt.
If they WBC had any common sense they would have put the interim belt on the line.
But money talks... and once again the WBC look like the corrupt morons that they are.

What makes it even funnier is that Haney recently said that the WBC should just give him his belt back

 

He doesn't have any of these big promoters in his corner paying off that corrupt Mauricio Sulaimán to make sure he keeps his titles. I remember Bob Arum sideways threatening him and since he is black and not with Al Haymon one else gives a ****. That's apparent on this site alone whenever Crawfords name comes up for a fight with anyone at 147. Never hear the same rhetoric when Lomachenko wants to fight someone though.

I don't think there's any way of knowing his level yet. He's 21 and still being brought along as a green prospect. As he should be. The fact he has a title is negligible. He looks great fighting his fight against low level opp. Very defensively sound. He looked worse against Santiago going for a knockout. He didn't have a venerated amateur career like Shakur Stevenson. Beat Ryan Garcia a few times. Regardless, he's in position to be a star. He'll be in a bunch of high profile fights for years to come. I think his floor is closer to Broner than Berto.
