    Roy was bored in the 1st Griffin fight. There was nothing Griffin did that troubled him, and once he pissed Roy off Roy ended the fight and then in the rematch he came out aggressive and finished him right away

    Harding fight was more interesting. Roy did legitimately have trouble with the right jab for all of 2 or 3 rounds then Roy figured Harding out him won the last 7 or 8 rounds and made him quit after 1 of the most lopsided rounds ever(watch the 10th round of that fight)

    Bob Foster at Light Heavy with his long levers and thunderous power starches Jones. Jones would have to go forward to get into range and there's no way he goes 12 or 15 rounds doing that against Foster without getting chinned.

    Roy was scared of being countered by Griffin, Roy was a counter puncher, he wasn`t that good against fighters that didn`t throw much because it didn`t leave him with many counter punching opportunities, Malinga didn`t throw much and Roy hardly hit him until catching him with a hook eventually and it was the same v B-hop who wa very inactive v Roy leaving few opportunuties for Roy to capitalise on missed shots.

    Was Foster a good counter puncher?

    He wasn't a half-bad one. His style was pretty much centered around setting up counterpunches.

    SRR is the obvious choice for me. Hearns would be a nice wildcard with that incredible right hand, dimensions and speed. Freddie Steele might be another as well as Lloyd Marshall's unorthodoxy tho he might be better suited above this weight.

    160 to 175

    Bob Foster with his height reach and snap allied to his absurd power would be one hell of an assignment.

    Michael Spinks is another. His two handed power would lose little to Fosters and he has that herky jerky winning tendency and Futch in his corner. He's a big man too and would be hard to evade over the duration.

    Ezzard Charles is the 175 GOAT and an incredible all round fighter.

    John Henry Lewis with his all round brilliance would be tough as well.

    Archie Moore would be crazy dangerous as well. His patience and ability to drag people onto his right hand would make him a potentially brutal.

    160; SRR, Monzon and Hagler are all threats
    168: No one
    175: Spinks, Foster, Charles beat him IMO.

    An initial punt at this...

    @160:-
    Monzon
    Hagler
    Robinson
    Hearns
    Nunn
    Williams
    Burley

    @168:-
    Calzaghe
    Ward
    Hearns

    @175:-

    Spinks
    Foster
    Conn
    Charles
    Moore
    Hearns

    I also wonder how a John Henry Lewis and Roy Jones Junior match-up might have gone. Without footage, one can only imagine, but to read about him and to look at his record, JHL was something a bit special.

    Hearns was more dangerous against Hagler than he was at 168 or 175.

    If an opponent came to him, which Jones would have to, Foster was a very good counter puncher. Look at the fight with Chis Finnegan.

    I actually think the cuevas/moore/hagler... Duran 1983....beats up Roy....roberto had very fast reflexes vs hagler...and i think he'd deal quite easily with roys potshots...roy couldnt move like srl...and that motivated version of duran gives him hell

    I think Hedgemon Lewis could trouble Roy at 147.

    Hearns would have been a huge threat, but as we all know, he was very vulnerable.

    Roy was smart.

    He wouldn’t have gotten into a boxing match with him.

    It’s okay saying that the first big punch that Tommy landed and it would have been over, but Roy would have been a very elusive target.

    Roy’s speed would have bothered both Tommy and Marvin.

    Marvin would have had a good chance, but I think Roy’s speed and unorthodox style would have been a huge issue for him.

    Benn and Gerald would have had a punchers chance.

    They could have knocked out anybody at the weight had they have had the perfect opportunity.

    Gerald fell in love with his power though towards the end, and Benn could be vulnerable later on in fights.

    They would have been very dangerous fights for Roy.

    Stylistically, Nunn and Liles would have been harder for him.

    Although Roy never had a great chin, it wasn’t really suspect.
