Rank these 3 fighters by their defensive skills.

This is tough to do...... It´s so close !!

Put a gun in my head and I would say Floyd.....

Probably I´m one of the guys in Classic that rate Floyd higher in terms of ability...In terms of defensive skills he is comparable with almost anyone IHMO....it´s not only his speed, it´s all about great positioning, and he knows where to move, beautiful timing......

Of course, all of this can be said about Sumbu and Canto as well.....so, it´s definitely hard to pick....

A good question and hard to do, I really need to watch more Canto. I think FMJ has more variety of defence and a better radar than Kalambay but they're similar. Canto's similar too. I'd probably edge towards Floyd, but Floyd never had to face a McCallum level skillset

    I know!:D

He's one those mandatory great fighters to watch.

Had to watch this midget even though I don't like featherfisted fighters.

    Damn you, master-boxer Canto!

    True.

It would have been interesting to see Mayweather dealing with Forrest when he was still around, don't you think?

Definitely, not sure Mayweather could handle the jab/reach/height and you know I rate him highly. Was never on the cards though really. The tricky fight that was closer to happening was Cory Spinks, a lesser challenger but would be the trickest outboxer Floyd would have ever faced. Mayweather called him out before he fought Corley and was playing Spinks and Baldomir off each other to see who'd take the least money. If Spinks got by Judah it would have happened, it didn't. But still Spinks despite being a tricky fight as a rangy southpaw outboxer isn't in McCallum's class

Ehhhh, for all the hate he gets on Classic.... I'd say Floyd.

I think all things considered Floyd is probably the third best defensive fighter of all time behind Whitaker and Pep.

Canto is second, and has a good argument as a top 5 all time defensive fighter, right up there with Locche and Benitez.

Kalambay, I was a big fan, but he's without question the weakest link here.

    Between Mayweather and Canto.

I'd probably pick Mayweather as the best, just, but Canto was much more impressive considering the physical drawbacks he suffered against every opponent. Which Mayweather never had to deal with.

Kalambay for me. Feet, body and head and came back with counters and did it against the best of the best in McCallum.

    Canto
May didnt take unnecessary chances. Unless you go
Out there and take chances you cant be called the greatest or whatever defensive boxer ever. Look at George Benton a master of the shoulder roll. Difference is George stood center ring in the pocket day in day out with a very good workrate and is still considered a defensive master. He proved it.
He didnt hold he didnt retreat to the ropes or anything similar. JMO
