He's a strange character is Froch.

An excellent fighter who has one of the best resume's of any British fighter.

He is an insecure and awkward man though. Apart from mentioning Calzaghe, Groves and how he would beat GGG if they fought, he is also very scathing of Andre Ward.

Everyone knows Calzaghe would box Froch’s head off for 12 rounds the same way he did lacy and Kessler

Everyone knows the answer, Calzaghe on points. Both had great chins and engines, Joe is on a different level when it comes to boxing though, absolutely class.

You'd struggle to find anyone who knows about boxing who'd pick froch to beat Joe.

In the absence of any Boxing, apparently Fast Eddie is or was planning a virtual press conference between Calzaghe and Froch. As an employee of Sky / Matchroom, Froch was just doing a job. Surprised that punters on here are biting to be honest.
I've met Froch and he is very shy. He struggles to accept compliments and seems to have a deep mistrust of just about anyone outside his immediate circle. Yeah, I guess he is insecure but it sickens me to see one or two of the non World Champions on here wading into him.

Sad when froch was asked if he was happy groves finally won a world title, ‘yeah that’s another world champion I’ve beaten on my resume’

or directly after the ward fight, in his corner saying not way Iv won, couldn’t hit him, don’t think I got 2 rounds’ then it’s all ‘i took 5 rounds off ward, he was gassed and about to go’

uk usually get behind their men but froch is such an unlikeable fellow

Joe would have beaten Froch I reckon around four times out of five. The idea it’s a 99% Calzaghe fight doesn’t quite do Froch the respect he deserves in terms of skill and also fails to accept that Joe didn’t win every fight easily.

Although I’d always pick Calzaghe I have a soft spot for Froch despite him obviously being a bit of an odd and incredibly thin skinned man because of the way his career went. I got into boxing wanting to see the best fight the best and at least Carl had a real go of making that a career. As time goes on I think Joe’s career looks more and more a waste.

Funny thing is, Froch would probably win over quite a few people if he said ‘Calzaghe was slick, massively quick, tough and would have been a nightmare for me. But I spent years challenging myself against the best, and he spent years doing the opposite.’

To be fair Joe liked going toe to toe a lot more than Ward ever did
Its why he got dropped a few times, he took more risks
Thats where Carls chances would stem from

I swear they were on ringside together and Froch basically admitted Calzaghe was better.

I can remember he said he’d get done on points probably but if he could get to his chin he’d spark joe out cold

People keep saying Froch is an all time great and 3 time world champ etc but he has never been number 1 at at point in his weight category, the best claim was number 2 or 3.

He is lucky he had the chance to be in an era where you dont need to be number 1 to be world champ or he would be another H. Cooper or a lesser charley burly.

He had the power as did a prime Kessler who could not find the target on the night.

The bigger the fight, the better Calzaghe performed and could easily see Froch with a face like Lacy.
