Genaro was old and was never the same after oscar de la hoya destroyed him 3 years prior. A text book win for young floyd that started a trend for his entire career, fighting good fighters that are well past their best. So while he has so many names on his resume, the boxrec dorks never actually go back and check WHEN he fought them and what were the circumstances leading up to the fight were(example = corrales was having troubles outside of the ring when he fought floyd, he had to go to jail after the fight)
Another day more hate. Hernandez is better than anyone your god GGG ever beat dumbass and will never be as good as pbf not in 10000000 lifetimes he showed you how to beat canelo ****boi something ggg never did. Pbf was 21 and he shut the man out and stopped him. Btw oscar fought hernandez at 135 not 130 where he was undefeated at and lineal champ dumbass get it right.
Why do you even bring GGG into these threads? I'm not even a huge GGG fan. You see the difference is people claim floyd is the best ever, while even GGG's fans only claim hes a damn good middle weight. If floyd is the best ever, you should not be able to pick apart his resume so easily. I mean almost every single win has something you can say about the opponent. Maybe floyd is the best in the world at picking when to fight guys....
Pbfs win over hernandez is was a great win. He's not the best ever but he's the best of the era give him his due and move on. You're a ggg fan stop trying to distance yourself from him now since you've been exposed. You make excuses for gggs poor resume but then trash fighters with superior resumes. Hernandez is better than anyone ggg beat.
Hernandez was a good fighter, not as good when floyd fought him. I mean its pretty simple. Most people regard hernandez as one of floyds top 10 if not top 5 wins, and it looks good at first. Until you actually put things into perspective. Its like wow, floyd stopped chico corrales. But chico had been going through some real problems, drinking and using cocaine. He got arrested for beating up his wife when high. ANd they let him fight anyways but had to go to jail after the fight. Maybe not such a great win....
You sound like a excuse maker did anyone make excuses for pbf when he was facing jail time going into his fight with cotto? No they didn't he went in took care of business and beat cotto. Excuses are for losers.
Dude revisionist history can be so deceiving.. SRL is by far one the greatest fighters in history and his two best wins historically would have asterisks by your logic.. Duran went on a buffet and booze binge immediately after his victory and was ill prepared for the rematch.. And Marvin Hagler was clearly past prime.. See how stupid that is.. Genaro Hernandez was undefeated at SFW and his only career lost was the one time he moved up to fight Oscar.. He beat Azumah Nelson to become the man at SFW and was a champion in the division for 6 years.. WTF so by your logic that clearly negates Pac win over Hatton at 140 because Floyd beat him at 147..
If we go with "overrated" wins then there is a big list of great fighter's, for example Pacquiao, his wins over Morales, David Diaz, Hatton, Cotto, DLH , Mosley and Margarito are overrated wins for a lot of reasons.
morales, david diaz, hatton, and cotto were solid wins. DLH, mosley and margarito were indeed washed up. And guess what? Pac gave them some of the worst beatings of their lives. Retired oscar, dropped mosley hard on his ass, and permanently ruined margs vision.
