Why are hardly any of Johnny Nelson’s fights on the web?

Nelson did not get a lot of TV pre Thompson.


He eventually got the SKY deal that started with Booth in 1996. After that I believe everything was filmed.


He allegedly was robbed blind in the two Rodrigues fights. But as mentioned did himself few favours with some very poor efforts. Nelson/Deleon was the worst main event ever shown on ITV; Nelson/Warring was a shocker and I went to Nelson/Akinwande, and that was appalling too.

 

They were laughable mate. I watched videos of them after. I think it was the second fight when Johnny was in a corner during the action, a woman (who I presumed was Mrs Rodrigues) got on the ring apron and chucked a pint of liquid in his face - the fight just carried on!
Take these absolute joke decisions out and he didn't lose a fight in his last 11 and a half years.

 

When Graham and Hamed hit the big time they split with Brendan because he wanted his full cut which I'm guessing was 25%. Brendan had spent years getting them to that point and that money, or a big part of it, went back into the gym and helping the next generation. The one guy who never even quibbled was Nelson. Fair play to him.

 

In "the Paddy and the Prince" book it said Brendan refused to train him when he was offered 4%.

 

4% ????!!!!! I am even more pleased that Barrera pasted him. I wonder what his Brothers were getting.

 

Johnny looked immense against Thompson, but It's plain to see that Nelson is in Carl's head big time and he folded from it.

That Nelson against the Haye from the Enzo fight would have been a great fight.
