Thought this would give you guys something to do while stuck in the housr. ESPN is hosting a boxing marathon atm as we speek including, all three Ali-Frazier fights, Tyson-Spinks, Ali-Liston, Ali-Foreman, etc. Right now. It's Chavez-De Lay Hoya
I'm watching Osacar and Tito now. Haven't seen it since I watched it live. They did this a few weeks ago with a bunch of Ali and Tyson fights.
Thank you. I don't think ESPN has ever shown Ali-Frazier I before. The other two they run around the clock. That's awesome. Just turned it on. Original call with Burt Lancaster, Archie Moore and Don Dunphy.
Most are ESPN standbys, but FOTC hasn't been on regular tv in 30 years and I don't recall ESPN showing Hagler-Hearns either. Def be recording FOTC and hoping for some good HD
I haven’t seen Hagler - Hearns on ESPN since the old Super Bouts days in the late 80’s. Ali - Frazier I aired on NBC around 1990 or so as part of a classic fights series. I remember that was the first time I’d seen it. Have it on tape. Really good quality on ESPN now though. I went on twitter and it was nice to see people talking about these fights. Some clearly had never seen them and were impressed. I think that’s cool! I hope there are some more fights aired soon. I wish someone could remaster old fights to improve the picture quality. I know it’s tough because of various rights but they’d be nice to have on now I’d think!
This was a good way to spend the day. Between the classic boxing marathons and the upcoming Last Dance documentary on the Bulls final championship season, ESPN's doing well by me right now.
