No it had nothing to do with his "power" at all. Ali could not drop Frazier or Norton in 3 fights and Foreman had better chin than both them
I'm in the camp of thinking Ali was hurting Foreman in their fight, he landed about a dozen peach right hands in the first three rounds.
So if he had to land a dozen peach right hands to make any effect over George then it is not a great indicative of having power
I think he hurt him too. I think the KO was legit, not just exhaustion. Although I think the count was too fast.
It's better in his older days, but still very good in his younger days. I pick Liston, Louis and Lewis to stop him. Possibly Fury, Ali and Holyfield too. Although I'm not as sure of those 3 getting the KO (or even winning in two cases)
Ali has more fans than the beatles so here we have an army defending anything about Ali regardless of whether it is true or not, but the truth is that Ali's power had nothing to do with George's stoppage, it was all about resistance and A silly fight, Ali couldn't drop Frazier or Norton in 2 trilogies, and Foreman had a better chin than both. And Liston, Louis, Fury, Holyfield and Lewis stopping Foreman is a good joke
Between October 1974 and October 1975, Ali stopped George Foreman, Ron Lyle and Joe Frazier. If Ali looked like Bonecrusher Smith or Sonny Liston and had a cool nickname like Hitman or Bonecrusher, and he still stopped all the same people he did in the same manner he did, people would probably consider him a bigger puncher than they do.
You think Foreman stops Ali? you ****ing idiot. Foreman struggled with worse movers than Fury and Holy and was all over the place by worse puncher's than Liston, Lewis and Louis. I fail to see how any of what I've said is laughable. And when I said "please form actual arguments", I wasn't just having a giggle. All you've done is look like an idiot.
Old Foreman never blew his load, and even then Holyfield had him hurt lots. Let's say Holy survives a 3/4 round onslaught and then boxes at range (like he did vs old Foreman), using counters for the nest 7/8 then stops him in the champion ship rounds.
Foreman in my opinion was definitely above average in the durability department. Being stopped only once in some 80 pro fights and mostly due to stamina and not the ability to take a punch is pretty sturdy
Agreed. Foreman was exhausted by the mid rounds of the Ali fight. By the eighth he could barely stay on his feet. While I do feel that Ali hit him with a very solid one-two combination to finish him, it was George running on an empty tank which ultimately led to his downfall.
