Crawford is currently the best welterweight and one of the best fighters P4P. He’s a switch-hitter, can box. He’s not really good on the inside and his defense is a bit leaky, but overall, he’s a very solid all-around boxer with a chip on his shoulder.

As much as I enjoy watching him and as skilled as he is: No. Nobody from Floyd's generation on is that skilled.

Not even close. His footwork, timing, and ring efficiency have a long way to go before he’s on Floyd’s level. Crawford also needs to step up the competition, since besides beating Jeff Horn he’s been coasting at 147.

Crawford is a top 4 welterweight. No need to compare him to the best of this century yet.

    Short answer: No

    Long Answer: Nooooooooooooo

Floyd could market himself and get the fights he wanted. He knew how to do that. Crawford is fighting bums in Omaha.

He's not as slick as Floyd,,, but I like him a lot more than Floyd and I think he'd give Floyd a very rough time

I don't think he's far off overall, he certainly is better than Floyd in some areas, while Floyd is certainly better in a couple more.

Seeing this latest generation of welterweights is making me appreciate Floyd's brilliance even more.
Crawford does make adjustments and adapt like Floyd did but still not on his level. Floyd's ability to figure opponent out and adjust on the fly is the best I have ever seen.

No.....Crawford doesn't have that best defense as Floyd does. He got hit a lot in his fights and once he was almost knocked down by Gamboa. So, Crawford is the fighter who counters his opponent well by using different angles and rhythm. His footwork, hand speed, power, and accuracy are impressive. I think that Crawford is at his prime now but he's getting older so he doesn't have so much time from now to enjoy his success. He needs to fight other World Champions at 147 to become the Undisputed World WW Champion and No.1 P4P. I'm looking forward to watching those big fights.

Ask yourself this. How would Floyd-Horn go? Knowing what we know about Mayweather vs smaller guys in Castillo, Augustus, Maidana? He probably wins, but it wouldn’t be in dominant and beatdown fashion like Crawford right?

Crawford is as skilled in his own way. Great counter-puncher too, I’d say better than Mayweather, with more avenues to countering, with better positioning with those counters. Mayweather was never great at trading, look at his early career when he’s trying to fight and be exciting, he gets hit a lot, much more in single fights than Crawford ever has. Why his style consists mainly of Dodge-Then Counter, and it’s usually an arm punch. Power is not just physical, but also temperament and style. Guy’s like Crawford, can ride a shot and pull their full body and power into a counter to land simultaneously, or use his feet to make a punch just fall short, this usually includes rolling the head(riding the shot) and going into a low stance to be able to pounce back with a full powered cross. It is not similar to a shoulder roll, where the punch is usually an arm punch. He can also fight loong, he can throw those Fury loose jabs to extend his reach and just mess with you, and has stopped people with left crosses and right crosses.

Crawford is bigger and somehow longer than Mayweather, he can counter too, he has power, his jab doesn’t look as cool as Floyd’s super sharp jab, and to be honest Crawford is not as fast as Floyd and that’s a reason why he can’t get a jab as sharp as Floyd’s, but Crawford has a variety of jabs, he can throw powerful jab and he can throw long flickers. The guy is a complete fighter, and due to his physical talents, of strength and power, he’s more complete than Floyd. The issue in a matchup would be, is he as smart as Floyd? Regardless a fight between the two would be awesome.

In what fight has Crawford been hit as much as Mayweather was hit vs Maidana, Castillo, Augustus, Corley? Crawford wasn’t really close to going down vs Gamboa, he was just wobbled. Never got this idea why people think a smaller/faster fighter shouldn’t be able to hit a bigger guy, or hurt him, but anyway, Floyd was hurt by Corley, more than once.
