What If: Tyson Fury v David Haye went ahead...

Its a different ballgame.

Haye couldn't land on Wlad because doing so would run the risk of taking one of the best right hands in the history of the sport.

Fury has ZERO power deterrent.

If/when he fights wilder or Joshua they will walk through him and ko him.

Wlad was about the only person that game plan would work on because of his cautious nature.

Wlad would have won the rematch too btw, in round 12 he finally realized he needed to just go for it and was clearly getting the better of fury.

 

We will see. Like I say i predict Wilder will just go for broke after fury outboxed him for a few rounds and when he does i predict fury will get absoloutley bodied. I'm talking like carried out on a stretcher with oxygen type bodied.

IF he backs up that one bit of form he has by beating wilder then I'll accept he's this super skilled dude, but until then it remains merely a PED tainted win over a Wlad who underestimated him, had distractions in his personal life and was overly patient.

 

He would win the rematch because he won the last round in a 12 round fight even though the reason he struggled is because he can't throw without being fully set and Fury is a natural mover...O K A Y (plus, Wlad fighting without caution is what has gotten him stopped by much lesser fighters in the past)

Fury has enough to keep you reasonably honest without having to sit down on his punches. It's still a huge gap for Haye to close on a static target, never mind a moving one.

Ok mate, you might turn out to be right against Wilder. We don’t know what condition Fury will be in, we’ll learn more at the weekend. What I will say is that Fury is a 6”9, 18 stone man...he has power. If we’re going to reference him copping a shot off USS then let’s remember that Fury knocked him spark out. He wobbled Klitschko a couple of times (round 11 stands out) where he literally throws himself on Fury to hang on.

 

We only have to look at the Valuev fight to see how Haye approached a much bigger opponent. He runs looking for openings to come into range and pot shot and then gets out again. Now against a guy like Tyson Fury with excellent movement and boxing skills, that tactic isnt going to work as you get caught coming in and Fury is able to catch you on the end of his jab (when he is in range of you, but you are not in range yourself).

This would be a wide UD to Fury. I cant see Haye making many attacks once he realises its a hopeless task so he doesnt get knocked out.

These are scripted lines by Smith when nextcan cards are on - the cans are mainly Tony Booth types with zero chance of winning.

 

If you were saying things like ‘Fury has no chance’ or ‘Klitschko’s gonna ko him’ then why isn’t it a masterclass? Plus he got in his head, people love to bet against someone and when they get proved wrong they just downplay the achievement

I really respect Haye as a two-division guy, but Fury would have won easily.

 

Fury would have knocked him out by the 8th round

and the wilder fights have proved Haye couldn’t knock out Fury anyway

 

Fury was a huge underdog in bookies when fight was made. I remember laughing my head off, looking forward to making a killing in the bookies. Even back then i thought Fury would win and win well.

 

Looking at how well Fury has done is recent year you would have to say Fury.

However if Fury fought the same fight as he did against Steve Cunningham in 2013 (the same year as the cancelled Haye fights) absolutely not. Also there was the controversial Rogan victory (lets face it if Tyson would have lost if he had been fighting against a genuine home fighter promoted show) and also was underdog against Chisora in their fist fight in 2011. I personally only really started to take Fury serious after the second Chisora fight and the end of 2014, where he completely schooled Del Boy.

Yea Fury would have won on size alone, similar to how he bullied Cunningham around the ring after he recovered from the KD. This was around the time where Fury was starting to become a world class fighter.
