I have a feeling DAZN is in serious trouble now. DAZN, unlike ESPN, is losing lots of subscribers since this pandemic started. ESPN on the other hand gets user fees based on people subscribing to cable or satellite dish so they are not as dependent on thier subscription fees to ESPN+. ESPN is also profitable unlike DAZN and are owned by a large corporate parent, Disney, with tons of cash.

DAZN was already very unprofitable before the virus started burning lots of money left and right. They have a very heavy debt load as well. I understand they have furloughed a large portion of thier staff as well.

    Will they survive?

I like DAZN and I don't have a problem with them at all. They put on big fights and will work with any promoter.

Dazn also lacks the day to day general sports coverage, original programming and documentaries

They'd better open up the libraries or or something

I really like dazn I hope they don't fold

I have a real problem with their camera angles. That 3/4 bird's eye view is annoying AF and you miss so much action. They use the camera angle frequently for long stretches throughout fights.

Yes. I paid $99 for a year subscription and have seen a lot of big name fights.

The staffing costs and US monthly subscribers don’t touch the sides for DAZN. This won’t have any impact at all. They currently aren’t paying for: 80% of their staffs wages, rights fees for events which are not happening, any original programming, any of their boxers. I can see why you would think it would have an effect, but it really won’t. Their US territory is supported by Europe and Asia. It’s all smoke and mirror, anyway. They own the majority of Matchroom USA and won’t be paying a penny to any of their fighters because there’s no shows. No money to Goldenboy either.

I do, I happen to like the service

After cutting the chord years ago its not easy to catch every fight without cable. I also appreciate the fact that unlike HBO back in the day or SHO they show the full undercard and you get the chance to appreciate up and comers in real time

I was hoping a service like DAZN would come along and put the nail in the heart of the current PPV model after PBC went from free boxing to so many PPV events

I guess if DAZN dies someone else could do the same thing but who knows

I paid for a year back in November and really haven't gotten much back for my money. The fights that I did get the live stream was pretty bad, making it better to watch on replay which isn't what I paid for. Will not be renewing come november
