Is Crawford as skilled as Floyd Mayweather was?

Crawford is very good no doubt but not as skillful defensively.

    No comparison.

Crawford is a superb elite level fighter no two ways about it but Floyd was the best of his generation - a freak talent.

We have no way of knowing. He hasn’t had to put his skills to the test against anyone close to the level of competition that Floyd fought.

Impossible to say up to now.

Crawford is my favorite fighter to watch, I love his style and his all around game and I believe he is among the very best in the world at the moment. He's no Floyd Mayweather.

Taking away Floyd's superior defence, he had a superb ability to dissect opponents, slow the pace, pick the punches. In his later career he'd often land the right to steer close rounds while barely expending energy. He had a sense of where he was in a fight. That's ring generalship, Teddy Atlas.

The stab-jab to the gut, the pull counter, the leaping hook, never telegraphing, always resetting with poise, there was a one-step-ahead simplicity to Mayweather's style.

Crawford is fantastic, and he's a meaner man now than Floyd was at 32, but he's second best in the game of hit n' don't get hit.

Excellent all round fighter who is skilled and versatile but Floyd’s skill level higher particularly defence.

Mayweather & Crawford are total opposites
Bud's disciples named him " The Cold Eyed Assassin" LOL Though Ive hardly seen the Assassin in him myself. Whereas Floyd couldnt knock a fly off a cow patty. Look when he cowardly cold cocked a totally defenceless & vulnerable Victor Ortiz. He couldnt even keep Ortiz down he was up & laughing in no time LOL. Really its a good job Floyd cannot punch as he could easily have seriously hurt Victor, or even worse, Where would Cortez & mayweather stand then?? BOTH were at fault Both should have been censured & Mayweather DQ'd

There’s a lot of people who were equally skilled. The difference is the in ring IQ. Floyds greatest gifts aside from the physical ones are his adaptability and his sight.
He is able to see things very clearly and capitalize on your mistakes.

Years from now, Floyd will be talked about with the likes of Roy Jones, Sugar Ray Leonard and Robinson, Sweet Pea, Ali, etc, legendary fighters who were all highly skilled and talented. Crawford simply doesn’t possess that “IT” factor that they had.
