Tex Cobb had to have a lot of dedication to live the lifestyle he did, never taking a night off, never dissuaded by a hangover or blackout.
Yes he was actually, how could I forget?! He has been a training freak since he was a kid, and still trains now. At one point, when his son first turned pro, he was out training him lol. The guy also does insane core strength workouts.
Definitely. Both spartan freaks. Chang, when he was 'on', was a sight to behold stamina wise too, though he wasn't the most consistent with his dedication.
Khoasai definitely deserves a mention here. Another spartan, to stay that fit, consistent, strong - and all at the same weight.
Ezzard Charles too. After losing to Marshall, heavily injured, he was back in the gym the next day, and said he spent every day he physically could in the gym, since his coach told him it was best for him. Danny Zaragoza was 38 brawling with Tatsuyoshi with no sign of letting up and could move the whole 12 rounds his while career. Amazing stamina. I can't recall ever seeing Canto tired. We don't like him, but Wilder has always come in immaculate shape barring his last fight.
Floyd Mayweather should be at the top of the list. Was at the top of the game for most of 20 years and never showed up in anything less than tip top shape.
At heavyweight I would say Wlad Klitschko, Evander Holyfield and Rocky Marciano. All three always turned up in absolutely great shape in a divison not known for its discipline. Many great light heavyweights seemed to be very professional. Spinks, Saad Muhammad, Foster were all real pros. Hopkins has to be mentioned as does Emile Griffith. Both were always in superb shape hence their very long careers. Hagler was a spartan warrior who always trained like an animal. Discipline seems more prevalent in the lower weight divisons. There are many fighters below middleweight who always turned up in tip top shape. Mayweather and Pacquiao are obvious pics from the modern era. Cheers All.
