David Diaz's head was target practice for Pacquiao.

When i think of Valero i just keep thinking another Oganov waiting to happen, going to come in with the KO hype and get dominated and smoked.

Well maybe my problem is also that I don't rate Diaz as high as other people do. I see plenty of gaps in Juans game, from offensive to defensive.

But you also summed up one thing about Campbell that does make him inconsistent and sketchy; he's a headcase! You just don't know who's going to show up, ala Zab Judah. OK, maybe comparing him to Judah is a bit extreme, but you still just never know what the hell he's going to do which is why I just can't bet on a guy like Campbell

 

You are spot on. Valero is nothing special IMO. I even question the guys power....I think he's a glorified C level fighter with a good padded record at this point.

 

It's interesting though how Barrera stated flat out that Valero would beat Pacquiao following the conclusion of Barrera's last match with Pac....i realize that this could partly be contributed to MAB being a sore loser, but still....MAB has a ton of credibility and if he says something (especially without hesitating one bit) you have to consider it.

 

I'm just not sold on Campbell, I like the guy, but his incosistency has always been his downfall, he's not young either, and now that he's tasted a title, will he still have the hunger? I'm doubtful.

We'll see against Guzman first though.

 

I fully expect Guzman to beat him in a competitive fight, though I could be very wrong here. Either way, Guzman is an entirely different fight than Pac is, could be considered a harder fight for anybody at 135 than Pac would be at 135 also, but we don't know that yet.

I can't see how Campbell wouldn't be 'up' for a fight against the P4P #1, personally. His issue's came against lesser comp and bad training habits.

 

i never said diaz was great... pac clearly has the advantage in speed and skill coming in. It's just the way pac dominated him that surprises me. Diaz was tough and very game fighter any lesser fighter would certainly have a hard time knocking him down.

 

Somehow I feel that Pac could clean up the lightweight division and you still would find something to discredit Pac.

 

I think this has more to do with the fact that all the good fighters at 135 already have fights lined up

 

Pac should really stay away grom guzman at this point. even if guzman beats nate for the titles, he should wait for guzman to beat another top5 lighweight such as the winner of such as the winner of jmm-casamayor while pac could face the winner of katsidis-diaz or hatton early next year after valero or soto in novermber or december

 

pac looked like pac nothing more, nothing less I also saw him breathe a little heavier in this fight-he needs to stay away from guzman! Trilogy w/JMM must happen then hatton.

 

When you're averaging 90+ punches a round, you'd be breathing a little heavier than normal as well.
